the Awl-Pike of Halmion (7d8) (+8,+14)
Dropped by a dark elven lord at 1700 feet (level 34)
Slays dragons (powerfully), demons, orcs.
Provides resistance to light.
Cannot be harmed by acid, fire.
Combat info:
4.0 blows/round.
With +3 STR and +0 DEX you would get 4.3 blows
With +0 STR and +2 DEX you would get 4.5 blows
Average damage/round: 782.4 vs. dragons, 512.8 vs. demons, 512.8
vs. orcs, and 243.2 vs. others.
There have been better weapons in this thread, and earlier, but after having to make do with a beaked axe of frost (< 200 damage) for most of the time, this feels great.
Slay orc is, alas, obsolete; I killed Azog and his son on the last level, with a shortbow of power and frost arrows.
Edit:
Luck continues for this character:
the Bar Chain Mail 'Harnor' (-1,+8) [45,+17] <+1>
Dropped by Mîm, Betrayer of Turin at 2900 feet (level 58)
+1 attack speed.
Provides resistance to fire, chaos.
Cannot be harmed by acid.
Grants telepathy.Last edited by Estie; March 12, 2020, 21:37.Leave a comment:

pair of launchers:
The Heavy Crossbow of Niria (x7) (+6, +27) <+3>
provides resistance to lightning, light
protects against confusion
sustains Intelligence,
prevents paralysis
Activates frostball (50 damage)
You show me a better launcher. You can't. But I can:
The Long Bow of Idrimon (x6) (+13, +29) <+3>
branded with cold
provides resistance to fire, acid, cold
protects against fear
slows metabolism and sustains life force.
Activates for Berserker Rage d50+50 turns.
Both of these launchers were dropped within minutes of each other from slayed uniques (ringwraiths).Leave a comment:

That's a fantastic find - would be even better for a priest though!
At Level 9, getting FA and SI on a single item is fantastic, never mind all the rest.Leave a comment:

Found on level 9!
Level 16 mage is very happy now. He kept casting identify after identify and this thing just keeps having ?? on it...
Dagger of Malionar (1d4) (+9, +6) [+14] <+5, +1>:
Found lying on the floor at 450 feet (level 9)
+5 wisdom
+1 constitution
Slays demons (powerfully), giants, trolls, orcs, animals, evil creatures.
Branded with poison.
Provides immunity to lightning.
Provides resistance to shards, chaos.
Cannot be harmed by acid.
Sustains intelligence, wisdom, dexterity, constitution.
Slows your metabolism. Grants telepathy. Grants the ability to see invisible things. Prevents paralysis. Blessed by the gods.
When activated, it creates a frost bolt with damage 12d8.
Takes 57 to 63 turns to recharge.
Some troll warrior might grumble about 1d4 +6 damage, but high-elf mage, not so much. I don't remember *ever* seeing telepathy or immunity items at this depth, and getting them in all-in-one package wouldn't be too bad for something found in vault at 4000 feet...Leave a comment:

This is just memorable because it's terrible...
the Quarterstaff of Ildare (1d9) (+7,-7) <-3> {cursed}

It makes it hard to hit anything.
-3 wisdom.
Cannot be harmed by acid, fire.
Grants the ability to see invisible things. Blessed by the gods.
Drains experience.
Combat info:
1.1 blows/round.
With +1 STR and +0 DEX you would get 1.3 blows
With +0 STR and +1 DEX you would get 1.3 blows
Average damage/round: 9.3.
It's kind of temping to use...Leave a comment:

Yes insane. Checking:
Min Level 77, Max Level 127, Generation chance 11, Power 525
It is actually a legit RoP (not amulet), the kind Orfax doesnt normally drop.
Things like FA, SI, rbase are hardly valuable if you find it at depth, but for a naked mage everything is awesome. And yes, a priest would love it even more.Leave a comment:

At dl 11 that is insane. What is it's actual native depth? In fact that is insane at any level: no standart necklace is remotely near that thing in power.Leave a comment:

Mothil may be the best ring I've seen ever; whether in the dungeon or posted on the forum.
I need to play more Angband. It's been awhile since I've found an insane artifact.Leave a comment:
