    How did this even happen??
Hehe, obviously it's based on amulet of adornment.

Never mind Morgoth. That will go through Ancalagon like a buzz saw. It makes killing GWoAnnihilation feasible, never mind patsies like GWoLaw. And Sky Dragons.

14d8 is highest base damage I have seen. Is there a cap ?

Slay evil owing to the paldin spell.
That's insane, I actually feel sorry for poor Morgoth...

Maybe; ive browsed through some more randart sets, and there was a 1d9 quarterstaff with everything and their dog on it valued > 900. Fire immunity, telepathy, +2 blows, all great but its just another stat stick for a mage.

I suspect that power as a function of base damage is off.

Yeah, so slay evil is valued too highly.

But 14d8 dominates 7d8 with Slay Evil. Yeah, there's no +5 STR and fire immunity, but those are negligible compared to the insane damage.

I think the main reason Deathwreaker has the same power value as the 14d8 mace is that slay evil is considered about the same as 2x base dice ?

In which case it is mostly the paladin spell that messes up.

And of course, there are the other slays/brands.
