Meant to turn the ring of speed (+11) into an artifact using the scroll, but never got around to it. Then I found the +8 speed artifact ring, and used that during the final fight.

Basic strategy was "summon ancient dragons and then poke things as needed". I believe I got most of my best loot from the bodies of the dragons I summoned, who died fighting for me, rather than from monsters generated as part of dungeon levels.
