Yeek! Yeek!

I promised myself that I was eventually going to win this game with a Yeek Symbiant. It took me dozens of tries, many of them recorded here on oook... and finally, it's done!

Most of my Yeek Symbiants chose barehanded combat. This has an immediate benefit in the form of multiple blows and good damage despite crappy STR and DEX. Omen (successor of Nemo) chose to go with weapons instead, sacrificing early-game combat for later-game power. This turns out to have been a wise choice, IMHO. The game is much easier when you can get the extra attacks from equipment, the spread blows skill, and so on.

Yeeks have horrendous stat penalties, so a reversed Amulet of Doom is pretty much required. I used a reversed -7 one starting around experience level 47 or so, then later found a -8. I found a scroll of artifact creation and used it on the amulet, but it didn't add anything except the name.

I had, as you can see, some pretty good luck with random artifact body armor. I found several suits with multiple immunities, and kept the one you see in the dump. Thorin showed up later to complete the set.

Archery becomes much less important in the late game, and I probably should have kept some of the skill points to boost either prayer or mindcraft. Some of the skill boosts you see (like Symbiosis past 30) were from late-game swordsmen quests, when no better choices were available.

I tried lots of never-moving pets in symbiosis, and found the Greater Draconic Quylthulg to be the best choice for this character. At 1500 HP, it's sturdy enough that it never died during combat, and the "summon ancient dragons" power was phenomenal. Most of the work I did in the late game consisted of clearing a bit of space around me, summoning dragons to fill it in, clearing a bit more space, summoning a few more dragons, and keeping myself healed up while everything breathed on everything else around me. This meant I couldn't use any aggravating equipment, because my "pets" would turn on me; so Doomcaller, pretty as it was, never saw much action.

In any case, having all resistances and immunities covered, and the ability to summon armies of "D"s to fight with me made the endgame pretty easy (relatively speaking!).

Yeek!
