Well, my first submission to the oook ladder. And I must say, alchemists rock your world. This one's the best yet, though I haven't made any artifacts yet because I want to wait until I'm sure I'm strong enough. I think my current situation will be a good test--I went to a death fate on Level 10, expecting some big dragons or something--I got Carcaroth, the Jaws of Thirst (Lv94), a Greater Draconic Q, and a bunch of other demons.

If I can beat this, I can probably afford the exp. cut for starting an artifact.

Good god, use an Ent! They get more HP than anything but DeathMolds (I think they also get 14HD). You don't need a lot of mana, but you'll get it anyway due to your Mage class. And, you get all the fighting potential you need to use that awesome weapon. AND you get to make all the artifacts you need, because 10HP is nothing. Compare that to my first alchemist, a Dark Elf Hermit. Man, that first artifact really did a number on me.

I think I'll trade the Slaying ring for another Accuracy ring; overall, it'd increase my damage a ton. Too bad I didn't max out Weaponmastery. :(

Incidentally, I noticed how unbalancing the "Extra Might" bug is--I can do almost 30,000 damage with that Seeker Arrow of Bard! I don't intend to use it though--not only is it a bad exploit, but I'd probably miss anyway. I can't hit squat in lower Angband--have to use Runecraft, wands, and summoned Dragons a lot.

The To-hit is altered by class, so warriors get +52 to-hit from a full 50 in WM - much more useful. Note that chain mail you had which reduced life - couldn't you have pumped the Pval, and used that for the to-hit/damage bonus?

synergy, many of the descriptions for required items are a bit, well, colorful. Where would you normally find a Troll's Heart or a Rabbit's Left Foot? ;)
