Death by nether breath/ball by various members of the group of undead that surrounded me. And I thought I'd done a good job of whittling them down, too....

The armor was a very recent find; I had been using Trone before that. I gave up shards resist, full ESP and reflection to get two more immunities (and evil ESP plus a few others).

Next time I get a scroll of artifact creation with a combat-type character, I'm using it on an amulet of telepathy. It's just too hard to get full ESP in this game, and it's awesomely useful. It probably wouldn't have saved me in Dim Gates, but who knows....
