I think my last character in 2.2.x branch, this one relied on stealing, more stealing, Tulkas and more Tulkas. Thanks to cooperative dungeon town in Moria I got loads of experience (few millions from potions), healing, stats, Artifact Creation, randart DSMs for free. Oh, and Old Man Willow still sits in Old Forest after being robbed something like hundreds of times ;-) Anyway stealing everything I need allowed me to jump straight from town in Moria to Ring hunt. I spent some time in Erebor, looking for goodies (and stealing them of course :-). Got the Ring, sneaked to Mt. Doom, Stone Prisoned my way to the end (killing some unique demons in the process and finding not one, but two Arkenstones and one Dethanc). Morgoth was quite challenging. I had to position myself in the corner of the level to decrease summoning space. Then there was nothing left to do but drink *Healing* and bash him with Divine Aim.

Flaws in my strategy: I forgot to buy Extra Max Blows(2), which would be helpful. On top of that, stealing and Tulkas-fighting don't mix well. Small kill count = small piety, while killing things near the end required lots of piety to cast Divine Aim. But all's well which ends well.
