Started a new run in the updated version, which has monster levelscaling. This means for example that on BDw3 a pack of jackals doesn't have only level 1 jackals but some of them are 2 or 3, and it keeps getting more difficult the further down I go. Let's see how far I can make it. The princess quest reward on BDw1 sold for lots of cash so I could get noxious cloud early and clear out the carnivorous monkeys on the BDw2 princess quest; now there's tengu next which should be manageable. Let's see how long it takes until that princess bitch decides that it's fun to make me fight a roomful of eye druj! :P

The run's going relatively well so far, already did two of the relic quests and got some useful FF rewards. However, I think I'm skipping Deathwatch this time, the reason being that I don't really need the items there. And I also stupidly triggered several traps of no return in the orc caves so I had to walk out of there all the way on foot because helpfully no recall items were spawning at all! Probably I'll do the Old Forest next, then Mirkwood. Oh, and the leveling system is a lot of fun - now, ambushes on the world map are actually a threat, and a Jennifer nearly killed me again with her "It breathes--More--" attack... :D

Lots of good items were acquired, including some very useful rod tips which I'd need some good rod (preferably istari) to attach to now. Also, since the @ is innately fear resistant now I'll probably switch out the fear resistance ring for chaos. Plus, fire immunity, YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY! :-)

On the other side, Fumblefingers steadily refuses to offer axe/bow/crossbow-mastery... the plain Warrior role just has sucky weapon skills, compared to the ones that specialize in certain types of weapons. He offered Hafted-mastery and Critical Hits a few times though which I declined. My plan is to up Nature/Temporal to eventually learn Grow Trees which will hopefully prevent me from dying to those stupid druj again if I make it that far... :D

Also, still no poison or blindness resistance, which is starting to become troubling. On Mkw24 I had several vaults, including one that had Bull Gates (level 52)! Good thing it didn't have a drolem instead or it would have done the "It breathes" thing. As it was, he stole one of my wands of teleport away and chased me off the level. Good thing he didn't steal something important instead - the wand he stole was the lower level one, so I still have the good one. :D

Oh, and I want to identify the trap of sinking! That thing would be awesome if it spawned on a nasty princess quest level!

Mirkwood done! Almost all resistances covered, but no additional immunities yet. We'll see if I can find some gear upgrades in the Land of Rhun; first I want to do the fourth Melkor temple for 3 extra points in Curse though. :) And eventually I also want to have many points in Nature and Temporal so I can reliably cast Essence of Speed and Grow Trees; the Banishment spell is probably out of my reach though and I certainly won't invest points into Udun with its crappy 0.4 modifier that can't be increased by any means.

Did all the Melkor temples, and farmed for some stat gain potions thanks to two dungeon towns in the Land of Rhun. Also finally got a few speed items, but the Rohirrim armor would mean going without poison resistance which is equivalent to "It breathes--More-- You die. You were killed by a drolem that you couldn't even see coming." So that's a definite no-go until I find another source of poison resist.

Now I'm in Mordor, with the arduous task of making my way down and hopefully not dying to some stupid druj. I really should start spending some of my saved skill points but maybe Fumblefingers will be nice enough to improve some of my skill modifiers so I can reach higher maximums... we'll see... MDr35 has a FF quest for 16 Dreads or something which I can certainly handle without additional skill point investment, but if I run into a quest that's actually difficult then I will probably unlock Essence of Speed and Grow Trees using my saved points.

Once again I made it to druj quest depths, but with the important difference that this time I beat them! :D The heavy investment into Nature and Temporal saw me through here, and it wasn't until MDr64 that I got stuck again. Don't even know the name of the quest monster that's blocking my progress this time (servitor of the outer gods or something like that?), but on the small level that had them, the game also spawned a bunch of nigh-unkillable Nightwalkers. How the heck do you even damage them, let alone survive their attacks? If I had been marginally more unlucky, their "It breathes nether--More--" would have finished me off since I just can't seem to find the resistance at all. Doesn't the game want to spawn some nice randart ring that has resist nether plus either chaos or sound?

And also, what's the deal with chaos and especially water? There seems to be no effing way to become resistant to the damn item destruction??? That's retarded! And I was so hoping to be immune to item destruction effects once I have every resistance and immunity! :(

You are a Mellor-worshipping warrior? Bump prayer up to 50 and nothing will be able to do anything to you after one melee round.

Finished off the Necromancer! First time I managed to do so. :) Then I visited Shelob but she didn't have the ring; probably going to do Ar-Pharazon next.

About the prayer/curse combo: it seems I don't have enough skill points left to take it to 50, even if I spent them all. :( My hope is still that I eventually find a useful axe to make use of the FF-granted axe-mastery points... also, if he ever grants bonuses to Magic I might want to invest in that since Grow Trees/Essence of Speed is quite expensive! We'll see how it goes. For the time being I'll still hold off on spending points until I run into something that I can't handle.

And the Stormbringer strikes again. No idea how the heck you can prevent that death, other than never walking next to it in the first place...

Feagwath had the Ring, and I was very grateful. However I'd probably not have made it to the fire anyway since Grow Trees doesn't work very well in Mount Doom. Ah well, from now on I'll make a point of seeking that unbalanced unique out and killing it at range, preventing it from spawning again! My next character will succeed for sure! :D

I think training one of the weapontypes really helps you boost damage. I haven't seen many warriors who don't train a weapon.
