i had never won with a fighting alchemist- I always got bored and committed suicide. Not too much to it, even with a yeek.

One unpleasant surprise is that my artifact sword (which started out as a vampiric blade of chaos of Westernesse) was not resistant to disenchantment by ringwraiths even though they could not shatter it. So instead of it being something like +40, +40 it was down to zero and I had to enchant it back up at the weaponsmith. Not that it made much difference in the end game...

With a fighter, Ringwraiths = RUN, I do remember that lesson. I also never felt the urge to make a fighting alchemist - caster alchemist otoh was one of my favourites, I made many.

I dimly remember doing calculations on how to balance the Pval of my mage staff so that mana wouldnt overflow (32k, not more), and how many points I had to put into fire for fireflash to affect the whole level. Ah, good times.

I have played caster alchemists also. They are easy once you start adding Pval to a mage staff. I won with one who took two Manathrust shots to kill Morgy, IIRC.

Dodge was a fun idea but wasnt worth going for. Which didnt keep me from doing it anyway. Fun times :)

From what I recall, westernesse with shatter res flag still can get disenchanted...not that I cared when using a random old one as swap.
Still, using archery is the best option; store some big damage launcher and slay undead/evil ammo, go on a ringwraith killing spree (starting with the bree quest), summon undead is a good way to force them to spawn though milking rotting Qs also works satisfactory. Once all dead, dispose of artillery. A bit of an annoyance but that was my standard procedure.
