Thanks for the new version! I'm excited about the new jewellery, my first amulet had +1 Str and and activation for banish evil, and I found it on level 10! Are there any artefact rings or necklaces left or are they all "randarts"?

By the way, how long is ID-by-use suppose to take? I had a dubious shield and a good weapon wielded for a few (short) fights but the pluses and minuses were still just "?"

There are two standard artifact amulets (one of which you are very unlikely to find), and no rings.

Plusses and minuses get learned when they are clearly used. So + to deadliness is learned when you get a best possible hit, + to skill when you get a hit which just overcomes the monster's AC, and + to AC when your armour just saves you from being hit. So it will take a few fights.

At first, let me say, I hate you, First-Age-Nick. You and UnAndrew, for stealing away my spare time again and again !!
(Keep up the good work. Nice surprises in every new version )

Some little remarks for 1.10, though:

        1) Birth option e) No selling to stores ... right part doesn't align correctly

        2) Killing a "M" (orc) with fire bolts shouldn't reveal it is resistant to darkness & nether

        3) "a Ring of Mobility A ring made from the black metal of the Dark Elf." - Elves? Or did you have anyone particular in mind?

        4) Potion of Wisdom & Charisma from Bat of Utumno on Sirion 28 is a bit early?! ..maybe just lucky, though ...

        5) Lvl 20 mage can't confuse a Lvl 18 Ogre in 4 tries?! You don't have more, as you have to start killing it then, or it will smack your mage to kingdom come .. (In general, all the confusion and sleep spells seem pretty useless in most variants..)

        6) Mimic (potion) mimics unique?!
"Ulwarth, son of Ulfang, is revealed in his true form.
        The Mimic (potion) dies."
=> shouldn't the mimic -hmmm- ... mimic... an object (potion), and only reveal it's true nature by attacking adventurers trying to pick it up? It's highly irritating so see Ulwarth on the map, avoid him, then have a potion (!!) follow you around on the map, only to turn into Ulwarth when it attacks you ...

        Thanks !
No, I don't have a clue 'bout C, and I'm not starting my own variant.

          My apologies. Kind of.

          1) Birth option e) No selling to stores ... right part doesn't align correctly
Yes - fixed in the dev version now.

          2) Killing a "M" (orc) with fire bolts shouldn't reveal it is resistant to darkness & nether
Could this have been from a previous character's monster memory? I haven't really touched this part of the code since forking from O.

          3) "a Ring of Mobility A ring made from the black metal of the Dark Elf." - Elves? Or did you have anyone particular in mind?
Yes - Eol, who developed Galvorn. He was referred to as the Dark Elf.

          4) Potion of Wisdom & Charisma from Bat of Utumno on Sirion 28 is a bit early?! ..maybe just lucky, though ...
Not early for Charisma, and Wisdom is in depth (although rare) at L30.

          5) Lvl 20 mage can't confuse a Lvl 18 Ogre in 4 tries?! You don't have more, as you have to start killing it then, or it will smack your mage to kingdom come .. (In general, all the confusion and sleep spells seem pretty useless in most variants..)
Those spells are tricky to balance - there is always the Beguiling specialty, too.

          6) Mimic (potion) mimics unique?!
"Ulwarth, son of Ulfang, is revealed in his true form.

          This makes me very happy.

Dragon scale activations are buggy, RDSM activates for grow forest for example, it is fun, but it should activate for fire breath according to description.

Thanks - fixed now. I moved some of the activation numbers around to make room for new ring of power activations, but forgot that the DSM activations had to be changed in object.txt

                    Just got the following message:

                    Code:
                    Selling a Quarterstaff (1d7) (+0,+0) [8,+0] (n) for 116 gold.
                    Fine.
                    You sold a Quarterstaff (1d7) (+0,+0) [8,?] (n) for 116 gold.
                    You have no more Quarterstaffs (1d7) (+0,+0) [8,?] (n).
If I remember correctly it was even sold in the shop with a "?" later but I'm not sure about that.

                    EDIT:

                    And now:

                    Code:
Wearing on your [i]head[/i]: A Cloak of Stealth [+1]...

I hope so. I introduced a bunch of new super activations with long recharge times for rings of power, and this is one of them.

I love these weapons "of Chaos" and some of the cool things they do to creatures, like polymorph or statis fields. Is there a spoiler list of these effects somewhere?
