Angband 4.0 dev 756c3bc
Information leak. With ESP, upon first arrival on level, Monster sub window shows awareness of Uniques on the other side of the level. I've noticed this leak in several dev versions.
No savefile since the information disappears the next move, or upon reload, so not able to duplicate simply with savefile.

I know v4.0 is mostly a framework upgrade and fixing obvious bugs, without the new content.
BUT
Have you seen/considered the brand new Shockbolt tiles? The guy is working his ass off to produce the most beautiful tiles Angband ever had. And his goal is to complete the entire tile set soon. That means, no more upscaled David Gervais 32px tiles mixed in a Shockbolt's 64x64 tileset.
So... If devs need any help with assigning, I'm willing to help.Last edited by maboleth; May 23, 2015, 23:51.Leave a comment:

Competition Ladder.
Affecting both Elliptic and Nick, their posts to the Competition ladder have three errors not affecting the other participants: (1) the character names have the Age appended (a bug that was addressed previously, but for some reason is affecting only these two); (2) max experience shown as "0"; and (3) max depth shown as "0".
The OSX build (builds, since I've used three since the comp began) don't have this problem. Is it the Windows or some other build that is the cause, or some other bug entirely?Leave a comment:

EDIT: Correction, it is Turncount and Max Depth that are not being recorded.Last edited by Ingwe Ingweron; May 23, 2015, 23:45.Leave a comment:

Angband 4.0 dev 756c3bc
New Quiver Command [|] issues:
1. “You have nothing in your quiver” with [|] command when first slot is empty.
See the attached savefile. In mid-combat with Sauron, @ has fired all arrows from the first and second quiver slots, leaving a few slots with some pathetic Slay Demon and Slay Dragon arrows. Look at the quiver with the [.] command from the inventory or equipment menus and you will see the arrows. However, try looking at the quiver with the new [|] command and you will get a message saying, "You have nothing in your quiver."174.zip
2. Can’t look at quiver with the new [|] command while in home.
3. For consistency (once the new [|] command bugs are worked out), it would be nice to replace the [.] command in the inventory and equipment menus with the [|] command.Leave a comment:

Update 756c3be fixes:- Charges getting lost on dropping devices in the home
- "You were wearing..." message restored
- File paths appearing in messages
- Dropping messages get the number of charges right
- Memory leak in vault parsing
- Duplicate slays/brands
- Autoinscription message referring to the wrong number of items
Mostly message improvement this time; that last one also involved a fairly major change to how objects are deleted. I am hoping might be an aid to crash prevention, so please do report any crashes, and also any remaining weirdness with messages.
The main issues I'm aware of unfixed are the running past objects/monsters/traps/trap detect edge bug, and speed, AC etc displays failing to update.Leave a comment:

(AFAIUI, it's a sort of portent of what's about to come in the dungeon in future 4.x releases, but doesn't change any actual gameplay -- as was the goal for 4.0. Kudos to whoever though that up!)Leave a comment:

(edit) and now i just got "You remove the rubble. You have found something" ?Word of Wisdom.
(edit again) A few more finds under rubble. Seems to be working fine now.Last edited by Thraalbee; May 23, 2015, 11:58.Leave a comment:

Side note: when did the town get the new weird layout? Is that a 4.0 thing or did I snooze through several updates?Leave a comment:

Not sure if it was intended or otherwise, but this fix has also affected the passable rubble in town, so if you're inclined you can dig it all out and score a few bonus starting items that way. (On the other hand, every time so far that I've found a potion that way it's turned out to be poison and I've died from quaffing it, so it's not completely a case of no-risk rewards.)Leave a comment:

When you make a post-death character dump in 4.0, the "Saving as [filename]" line to say that it's been created successfully is appended to the Last Messages section, exposing info about the player's file structure in the publicly posted chardump. (I mean, in my case that's just "C:\Users\User\Documents\Games\", so all it's exposing is that I save program files in a stupid place and can't be bothered to change the default username, but people could potentially have personal details in their usernames if they're say, playing Angband at work. Not that anyone would ever do that.)Leave a comment:
