    Smile happy

The name of this one is "smile happy" in Swedish. I believe I know why... except wiruin made a double suprise move on me soon after finding it (and losing sound resist on the swap) so not so happy face after all. Still, (+19,+20) is awseome even without the weapon branding.

    the Ring 'Leglad' (+19,+20) [+7] <+3, +6, +1> {a:lifedrain}
Found lying on the floor in a vault at 3600 feet (level 72)

    +3 intelligence.
    +6 dexterity.
    +1 light.
It causes your melee attacks to slay undead (powerfully).
Provides resistance to acid, lightning, poison, shards.
    Provides protection from blindness.
    Cannot be harmed by lightning.
Grants the ability to see invisible things. Prevents paralysis.

When activated, it drains up to 120 hit points of life from a
target creature. Does not affect undead, demons, golems,
    elementals or vortices.
Takes 303 to 370 turns to recharge at your current speed.
Your chance of success is 91.5%

HT Warrior dilemma to itself: "man, what should I wear, this ring of damage +14 or the ring of DEX +6? God, I wish I could wear both!"

Very nice find. Too bad that with it you had to live out the old cliche.

the Set of Leather Gloves of Galaul (+7,+8) [1,+18]
Dropped by a crystal drake at 1850 feet (level 37)

Cannot be harmed by acid, fire.

I've only been playing this game for like a month but this is the saddest randart I've seen, and probably will be seeing for a long while.

Honestly that's a pretty nice set of combat bonuses. It's not better than Cambeleg or Fingolfin, but it probably beats any other pair of standart gauntlets for melee-heavy characters.

Yeah, with a melee character I'd wear those until I found good gloves of power. +7+8 is a large bonus for gloves.

Right, I found this one recently:

the Mace of Disruption 'Aereb' (14d8) (+9,+8)
Found lying on the floor of a special room at 4650 feet (level 93)

              Slays undead.
              Provides resistance to fire.
              Provides protection from fear.
Cannot be harmed by acid, fire.
Grants the ability to see invisible things.

The "special room" was just a small one with 2 1x3 cells in the middle. I didnt even see the base item; I had detected treasures and walked over this weapon, picking it up to have my chin fall off.

Later I found an armor piece that granted *slay* dragon, for almost 3k listed damage versus those. I think Ancalagon took 6 turns to vanquish.

Against Morgoth it is of course no better than a 7d8 weapon which slays evil; given its low enchantment, I bet Deathwreaker does more damage.

                +1 attack speed.

Takes 91 to 123 turns to recharge at your current speed.

Thanks for rectifying that, then. Yes, it has all the goodies except for extra blows, and it only slays (not *slays*) undead. Bummer (:
