I'm about to start the dive from dl75 in Angband. I just don't think I've got the 'oomf' to survive a serious assault by horned reapers or other Greater summoners. GOW is getting wrecked by everything just because the cave troll horde I meet on dl75 all seem to be lvl65+!

Interestingly this char had an even quicker level gain than the alchemist trick. Simply took out the rogue quest, bumped up mana and magic and then wiped out hydras s. of bree until lvl 17/18. Only then did I go to the barrow downs.

1 potion of Life, 1 scroll of Mass Genocide and about 800sp late he was toast! My speed was 32. He summoned monsters once, darkness stormed twice, mana stormed a bit and ran at me and meleed the rest. He was on one star, I was on 83hp, he tried to get all Dirty Harry on me so I popped a manathrust up side his head and that was that.

With no cold res or pois res and only the 1 cure potion I think the RNG was laughing so hard that I snuck one by her. Sorry is she's in a *bad* mood for a few days.

I was gambling on the research on Morgoth being correct that he is *just* an evil creature and so therefore totally susceptable to a Vampirism spell. Oddly, This specialist Necromancer would have no chance at all in the Void! (unless I can level the DWoP to the stage they can do the job themselves) The class should have some form of Dispel Unliving.
