Re: Nimthanc. Well, if you found it, you'd use it too! I didn't have any good axes -- at least, nothing that compared with *that*! In the early game, you use what you have.

Re: elf skeletons. They were lying around in my home in Lothlorien, of course. I haven't "used" them (converted them into bolts) yet because I want to wait until I get to a fairly deep dungeon level. (From what I can tell in the source code, it seems that ammo creation depends on your current dungeon level.)

Special level. Got hungry. Summoned a grand master mystic to eat. It summoned water hounds. They all decided to breathe on me. My healing item activation failed, and they breathed some more. If I weren't such a moron, this character should have been a winner.

Got two wishes from a staff as noted earlier. The first one went to the PowerDSM, which I did not regret. The second one I saved for a bit, then used for a scroll of artifact creation, which was then used on an amulet of sustenance.

I lost a *lot* of pluses from the axe due to attacking ringwraiths with it. That hurt me considerably, knocking hundreds off my per-round average damage.

But what really made this guy stand out was that randart shield which covered the three immunities to complement my PowerDSM. The DSM and shield, together with my dwarven blindness resistance and my warrior's courage, gave me total coverage of the "resistances" column on the character sheet. Then I just needed the sustains (amulet), free action (gloves), see invis or telepathy (helmet), and I was all set for choppin' up monsters.
