So I've been trying to survive the first few levels for a few days. Died over and over and over and over...you get the picture. Then on one level when I spawn I detect monsters and it's novice mages. One or two was spectral and zombie, so they gave me good XP. They got me to like level 6 or 7ish. There was a very small vault close by, so I teleported close to rob them. First item I fetch? 'Elessar'. Thx RNG, I don't have a neck slot dammit :) But the vault had a speed ring too and Gauntlet of Eol, so all is forgiven. Although I'm suspicious, I bet RNG will kill me for the gauntlet, that's just too good of a drop to let me live with it. Even though after I got it a spectral mumak came over and got me to level 24 :) Ehh, even if I die I can die happily cause LostSouls are pretty fun, it's a big worryfest, since I never know when something just gonna show up around the corner and breathe on me or something nasty like that. Thx Darkgod for this mode of play, it's a nice refreshment :)

One weird thing is that I still haven't seen any *ID* scrolls, and I went ascended some 18 levels now.

However after finishing the lost sword dude's quest in Barrow Downs he presented me with 3 useless skills and Mimicry. I'm in love with this skill :) Too bad I only saved one cloak from the depths, and there were vaults with 7-8 cloak of mimicry in them. Sigh, ohh well I had no clue I'm gonna get this. But once I got to the maze and was really really pissed off about this dungeon. Randomly teleporting around somewhere where you don't know if you been there before sucks. So I spent all the 2 top levels in kobold form, then I found a Ghost mimic cloak and my life was suddenly 100 times easier. Even though it says I'm a [Gost] when I turn it on :) One thing what annoys me and I noticed this in Angband too, when something has a chance of 1% of failing, like my mimicry skill, sometimes I fail 10 times in a row, maybe we should work out a patch for all variants where recent fails have an influence on failing again. Like have a 10 element fifo array which has a history of a skill or spell. When something with a low percent failure rate in those past tries fails (maybe more than once) it should override and not fail till the fail-attempts fall out from the array.
