i used the Thunderlord strike power as my primary offensive weapon throughout the game. In the early going I hung out in the mountains and let the friendly uniques take dragons down to the point that I could kill them with one zap. As soon as I could I went to Paths of the Dead with a stack of ? of Summon Unmoving and got some Silent Watcher companions that could summon. That gave me pets that would give me experience when they killed something. After that it was mostly a matter of staying back and letting them do the dirty work while i reaped the benefits.

I had poor luck with FF quests. I didn't get the third Mindcraft reward until level 90 or so. Before that i was carrying around rods for detection. Afterwards it got much easier.
