Loving the seen vs. aware distinction in the object sub-window! It works great!

With one funny exception. The spot @ is standing on is apparently not in LoS. Items on that spot will be listed as "aware", when @ moves off the spot they are listed as "seen". Guess @ can't look down at his feet?

Description for Mushroom of Purging is deceptively innocuous. It describes the good effects, but fails to mention @ will vomit and faint from lack of food. Luckily, I knew this and had a ?Satisfy Hunger handy for just that occasion. A newbie, on the other hand, might get a nasty surprise even though the mushroom is supposedly fully identified.

Edit: And Woohoo! I finally made it to "Knight" on the forum!

Tiny trivial issues still existing in the latest version:

    * The "You see no more [X]" message after you use a consumable from the floor is still missing. (Mildly annoying because if it's something that doesn't trigger any effect message - which includes some high-level scrolls like Mass Banishment - the "You see no more Scrolls of Mass Banishment" message was the only thing that told you it had actually been identified.)

    * The level feeling indicator at the bottom of the screen does not immediately update if you discover the treasure feeling by illuminating a room. The treasure part stays a question mark until you move into a different square. (Stationary actions, including attacking adjacent monsters, don't trigger it to update.)

The AC/Speed failure to update bug still exists. This is in OSX.

On Dl28, @ donned an early lucky find of Balance Dragon Scale Mail [50,+10], but the Curr AC showed "33" even after moving around. Had to do a Ctrl-R (redraw) to correct the error to reflect the proper Curr AC of "77".

    Update 5a88d78 fixes:
    • Activations with a choice of random effects crashing the game
    • Randart rings of power getting nonsensical activation mesages
    • Artifacts with a special activation message not using that message
    • Wands and rods being 'activated' where 'aimed' is the right word

There are some admitted issues with effect descriptions not having the most elegant wordsmithing ever - I will try and do that a bit better. Also the last word has not been said on where save and score files go.

Not necessarily a bug, but as of this version the file saving structure has been changed. Instead of saving scores in the Apex directory, and savefiles in the Save directory, these are both now being saved in subdirectories of the User directory. Is the higher level Save directory now redundant? Was this an intended change?

Maybe. In 3.5.1 @ would get a message something like, "Ar-Pharazon the Golden commands the player to go away." But @ could often resist that command. Perhaps he was trying to teleport level the @ away rather than just teleport away?

I have been looking forward to the day where we can change that for a long time.

Ah, probably a dumb question... I just realized @ has a resistance hole for rNexus. My guess is the saving throw isn't helping at all without the rNexus.

Thanks. Turns out it's an error in the parsing of activation.txt - the dice are all getting attached to the first effect, so it was rolling a d230 to decide whether to breathe sound or shards...

I'll have a fix for this (and the name issue) tomorrow.
