Mimicry was absolutely critical, first to get me through the Void with my nice mist cloak, second for the extra arms, third to reduce the chance of becoming an abomination, and finally as an easy way to revert to Rohan form the few times I did get turned into an abomination.

I never found out by quaffing Morphic Oils , but Mimicry may have some different effects.

The stealth bonus is the same. I just happened to find a Mist cloak of Air, not a Mouse cloak. For actual fighting, I usually switched into Rohan form. Occasionally I used Tulkas' Wave to blast vortexes and such, while still in Mist form.

In Vapour form you get a -40 to-hit penalty, but as a Mouse you lose 4/5 of your damage bonus. It might work out to about the same total damage, depending on what your to-hit is like.
