Also, couldn't you quiver that dagger for the resist and weild your best staff for more damage?

@Soyaki, as you can see from the weapon descriptions, the dagger is his best damage (except vs monsters that resist acid) as of this dump. And only primary throwing weapons can give resistances from the quiver (a throwing dagger or javelin would, but a normal dagger or spear wouldn't). In the next version, nothing will be able to give resistances from the quiver.

@Shinedog: At least skimming the DAJ130.txt help file is highly recommended for anyone who hasn't played DAJ before (it's in the help menu). One thing that isn't mentioned in that file is that uniques, vaults, and chests really are more likely to have ego/artifact loot than normal monster drops or floor items. And Wormtongue still has the DROP_GREAT flag.
Also, don't hesitate to use those exploding arrows (I tend to save ego ammo and end up dying before using more than a couple of them).
