    No, they haven't changed since 3.5.1.

    Yes, this still needs fixing - I've been seeing it too.

    On purpose - when no selling is on, the only things you can return to the shops are unknown flavour items for ID.

    I'm not sure if they ever did, but @f9, @f8 etc do work

    That's weird. I'll investigate.

    This is by design - the quiver has always been this way.

    Switching to a subwindow doesn't really do anything (all input only affects the main window) - do you mean for opening the subwindows? I can look into that.

This may not echo other people's prefs, but I try and save the slays for only the creatures that they are useful for, and if I brands are ordered above them, then there's less chance I waste the slay arrows accidentally since Brands are applicable to a lot more creatures. But I can also see reasoning to just order by straight power with slays/brands intermixed. You don't want to waste a +15,+15 brand when you have a +6/+9 slay orc still unused.
    I think I want to keep the straight power ordering. This sort of personal preference is what inscriptions are for.

Is there some bug activating this command when spells are cast?
      Odd. I haven't been able to reproduce it, but I haven't tried for long.

      Is it possible you're giving a complete casting command and then moving? For example, I can cast magic missile to the left once, then hit 'n', left arrow and I will cast the repeated spell then step to the left.

        I can't see how. First, sometimes it moves me a *lot*. Also, that's something that, if I were doing it, I would have been doing for years, not just recently.

          But when no selling is on, I can still sell back Staves of Mapping and have them get recharged. Why some items are sale-able/re-chargeable and others aren't?

          Oops. I forgot that "f" is the standard shoot command. I never use standard.

          I play on a 12" laptop screen, so real estate is a big thing for me. Rather than trying to fit all my sub-windows on one screen, it'd be much easier if I could have a couple of them like the creature description and character description sub accessible via Cmd-6 or Cmd-7. Then, they would layer over another sub-window I have. For instance if I'm busy examining a bunch of monsters, it'd be nice to be able to Cmd-6 over to the monster description sub, which replaces the mssage log sub, and then I can tab through the various creatures reading the monster descriptions. Then Cmd-5 back to messages when I start moving again. Similar use cases exist for inventory/equipment management, planning, etc. I know I could do it via point and click, but when I play roguelike, I almost never use the mouse, so it's fairly counter-intuitive and inconvenient.

          Thx for all your time, effort, hard work, and caring. You rock!

            I believe it's simply that you can only sell for recharging items that the store would naturally stock. Wands of lightning bolts are not naturally stocked, so you can't sell them back to the shopkeeper.

              Speaking of the re-draw bug, the Map sub-window on OS X is buggy.

              To clarify: I'm talking about the subwindow that appears when I go into Options->Subwindow Setup
              and turn on "Display Map View" as it's own window.

              There are two issues:

              (1) It slows down re-drawing of the main window a lot. When I have it in the background, not shown as a full window, and am doing stuff in the main Angband (Cmd-0) window, re-draw on the main window slows down immensely. It takes nearly 5 seconds with redraw delay=0ms or 10ms to cross the screen. This slow down persists even if I minimize the subwindow or outright close(X) the subwindow.

              (2) It gets buggy and fails to re-draw any part of the map that's off-limits. So, if I have the map large enough to show the whole dungeon, it exhibits the following behavior: if I'm centered in the middle of the dungeon, it looks good, and I can see the whole dungeon. Then, when I run to the right edge of the dungeon, it wants to re-center the drawing on my current @ position, forcing the left part of the dungeon off the map, and then on the right side of the subwindow, where there should be only blank space, the older full dungeon view is still visible, so you see a duplicate of the right side of the dungeon: One, part of the current re-draw with @ centered, and two, part of the previous re-draw showing the right edge of the dungeon. I can provide a screenshot if you can't reproduce this or don't understand.

              [Update: (1) seems to happen even if I set it to overhead map instead of normal map]

                "clicking on target" suggests that you use mouse. I turn mouse off ASAP in all my games because that's disaster waiting to happen.

                  I like using the Map in the "Options" menu rather than just hitting M because the options-menu map is much more accurate and detailed while M just shows the general shape of the level.

                  Is it considered a bug that the options-menu map fails on cave levels?

                    I use the mouse to target, that's about it.

                      OK, so cast spell, left-click to target, right-click to fire? And this is in Windows?

                          Warnings in V compile: out of bounds array write:
                          player-path.c:75:17: warning: iteration 100u invokes undefined behavior [-Waggressive-loop-optimizations]

                          ^
                          Nominal array overflow. You can fix it by using memset 0xff to get rid of nominal overflow and insane "optimization".
                          Code:
                          	// initialize to -1;
                          	memset(terrain, 0xFF, sizeof(terrain));

                          if (prev < BIRTH_FINAL_CONFIRM)

                          bogus warning. Fix with
                          Code:
                                 enum birth_stage prev[COLOR="Red"] = {0}[/COLOR];

                              Not a bug. Hasn't Angband always expressed @ weight in terms of Stone weight? English stone = 14 lbs. So this High Elf is eight feet tall and weighs 279 lbs.

But we can't give you love and rhetoric without the blood. Blood is compulsory. They're all blood, you see.”

                                Methinks Pete is talking about the remainder. If 1 stone is 14 pounds, then a remainder of 41 pounds indicates math being done wrong somewhere.
