It seems it's not possible to create a new topic in the 'Variants' section — I get an error. Only replying works.

I'm going to try and set up a flarum site to hopefully work better. We'll lose ladder integration but that seems less of a priority

Gwarl, I've wrote to you in Discord once, but didn't get a reply, so I'll try there too:

flarum is a very bad choice for forum engine.

if you decided to migrate to another engine - take phpbb https://www.phpbb.com

just in case: I can host Angband forum. I got plenty of resources at my webserver. I can make separate domain for it if needed
(it will be pretty sad if 20 years of Angband Forum history would dissapear... after all these years)

I got 20+ years experience with admining forums and protecting them from spam (I've designed several capchas). so if you need help - I'm here

By the way, the ladder dump/forum thread links on the home page still lead to earlier forum, so they're broken now.

With some difficulty I manage to respond ti this thread.

I don't have a strong opinion other than, it took me a lot of effort just to give my non-opinion? The direct route from the forum site did not work.

Look, if I log in to site, click on to this thread and try to read it, it doesn't exist? I now know how to jump through hoops, but for someone trying yo access this conversation through the front pages, they encounter an error

EDIT: I can't reach this thread through the front page, but I can reach it via an alternative path.

Like I said, it's same for me - forum thread links from main page don't work. Same for ladder dumps; you have to go through Ladder/Forum tabs to view those or post.

By the way, last time I tried posting here, it gave a 500 error, but message still was received.

Like... let's pretend it's not me and it's like a real person trying to access the site, they are probably just going to give up, and believe the site isn't going to be worth their time?

Registrations now require email confirmation rather than moderator approval - effectively this means we can have new users again. The show will go on.
