No way I would use it under these circumstances. I stored it for later, as a swap for cold unique killing.

    +4 intelligence.
    Provides immunity to Cold.
    Provides resistance to Dark, Sound.
    Cannot be harmed by Acid.

When activated, it fires a ball of lightning with radius 2,
dealing 85 damage at the centre, which your device skill increases
by 27% for an average of 107.9 damage and extends electricity
    resistance for 20+1d20 turns.
Takes 81 to 99 turns to recharge at your current speed.
Your chance of success is 95.8%

Not useful, though I am holding onto it.
I find it interesting how much AC affects treasure feeling. If this armor was [48, +15] it'd be a 5 or 6 at this depth. That's a tough call. I guess it depends a lot on how good your current rings are. Personally I *love* disenchantment resistance. Cold immunity sure is nice but I don't think losing speed and INT and disenchant and a ring slot is worth it. It will increase the value of your home, though.

I am playing a rogue who is wearing elvenkind leathers with rpois and a shield of preservation. If I were to use this, I would lose:

    - a ring slot, as I'd have to equip = of rpois
    - disenchantment resistance and stat sustains as I'd have to equip shield of resistance
    - speed from +4 to +2
    - 1/3 of my mana pool, despite the int bonus

    I would gain:

    - cold immunity
    - AC which would allow me to ... melee Ologs ?

If you were playing a weak character that is a great find. For a half-troll warrior, it's only okay.

This one doesn't technically qualify since the level feeling was only 8 but I'm going to mention it anyway since it was on level 1:

    Robe of Permanence [2, +21]
Provides resistance to acid, lightning, fire, cold, sound.
Cannot be harmed by acid, fire.
Sustains your strength, intelligence, wisdom, dexterity, constitution.
    Sustains your life force.

Took me quite a while to find out what it actually was since I didn't know any runes at that point, but a mysterious Robe [2, +21] with unknown powers sure got my attention!

Lvl 26, 5-9: rod of healing. Disappointing, I am going to store it for later as my hobbit rogue with 177 hp cant make much use of it yet (49,7% success rate).

This lovely pair of cesti made life a lot easier for my current mage. Not spectacular in power, but incredibly useful nonetheless:
    Code:
    k) the Set of Caestus 'Andir' (+0,+3) [5,+21] <+2, +5>
Found lying on the floor in a vault at 1500 feet (level 30)

         +2 dexterity.
         [B]+5 stealth[/B].
Cannot be harmed by Acid, Fire.

Multi-Hued DSM (45 +10) lying on the floor at 500' just now! Playing 4.2.3 warrior.

    @gg-
+4CON on a cloak is excellent, though I agree it would be better for a Paladin.

the Cloak of Helin [1,+21] <+4>
Found lying on the floor at 50 feet (level 1)

    +4 wisdom.
    +4 constitution.
    Provides resistance to Lightning, Light.
    Provides protection from fear.
Cannot be harmed by Acid, Fire.

Sadly, am playing Rogue, not a Priest or Paladin.

ETA: shortly thereafter, I found Boots of Speed +5 on DL9. No complaints!

DL 6, LF 2-9, Hobbit Rogue at about CL 10:

    Pseudo-Dragon Scale Mail [32, +10]

Just vanilla DSM, and at 20# a bit heavy for a li'l ol' hobbit; but for that breath attack, he'll find a way to make it work. Orc mobs: say hello to my little friend...

Just had a 4-9 level at 700 ft with my Half-Elf priest

    Found two little goodies

    g) Law Dragon Scale Mail of Craftsmanship [36,+20] {??}
Found lying on the floor at 700 feet (level 14)

You do not know the full extent of this item's powers.

    n) a Rod of Drain Life

Only real downside is my intel is low because I'm a priest. So the success rates only are 30-33%
