On DL2, found a Red DSM. Not bad for my earliest x-9 level.

I got a 1-8 level feeling on DL3 and found a Rod of Drain Life. Sadly, I'm playing a Paladin, so I have only a 29.9% chance of success at CL8.

Dlvl 1, 1-9, first venture downstairs -- Staff of Banishment, 3 charges. Not bloody bad, but I won't be able to use it for a while.

    Dlvl 15, 3-9: Nature's Craft. And I am a ranger, now I just need a good bow.

Rod of speed fail rate is not particularly important. Most of the time you want to buff up before the fight begins, and even half a dozen extra turns doing it doesn't matter.

DL 8 : Rod of Healing - 1000 turn recharge and 29% success. Useless. Playing paladin so no point keeping for late game either

DL 19 : Rod of Speed - Still bad success rate but this one I'll keep

Not very useful at all. I actually squelched it, being a HT warrior. If I had been HE warrior, I would have stored it for the endgame but HT magic device is abysmal.

Not actually very useful at that level. Hard to activate, and you can't absorb that many HP anyway. But it can be very useful later to be sure.
