I decided to try a non-sorcery sorceror. I played as a thaumaturgist/worper hybrid. The advantage of starting with a sorceror is the more efficient use of skill points.

I had terrible luck with high-level thaumaturgy spells. No inertia spells, no force/beam, and the only area spell was acid. That took forever to kill acid resistant monsters like Morgy.
