Otherwise this characters life was made easy by a find of PDSM at 1600 feet (or so). I didn't think that was possible in anything but theory. I haven't seen many of those and none so OOD.

A gaping hole in the equipment is that I still used boots of stealth (for crying out loud) at the final battle ...

Ah well - now I might try out some Zangband char's again.

On a stealth note - one of my favorite characters was a Zangband rogue who reached max-stealth at midlevel and cruised down to the endgame, but died when the "always small levels" killed him at around 4500 feet due to an unnoticed Demon Pit with only "wall-borers" (Nyca-Demons (?) I think) =). Oops 20 Demons in LoS. Breath, Breath, Breath = Death.
