Tried a little to kill Camelot knights but it seems they mostly resist base and my master mindcrafter's summons weren't too effective so I suppose I'll wait for water bolt to be reasonable.

Summoned monsters disappear when their (monster) parent does. Could that be what happened? This mechanic (from Hengband) was added to prevent you spamming your pets' summons for upgrades. Unique pets will also disappear if they are too wounded, I think.

For the lord of chaos it's possible it was summoned. You know those special monster packs that are all the same glyph and awake? I thought it was part of one of those but something might have summoned it at one of my pets, it did disappear while I was killing the rest of the pack.
