YASD. Had a pretty good demonologist going, running him like a warrior-mage. Saw the only mimic pit (no molds at all) that I've ever seen. Wore the Anchor of Space-Time thinking that I'd hold them down and hit them with Demon Field while I hacked away. Opened the door and got hit with so many Cause Wounds spells that I was left with 75 hp. Debated: should I teleport or heal with my junkart? Decided teleporting was better, but forgot about the Anchor. Needless to say, that was the end of me. Oh well...

Do note that I've hacked 2.3.5 to include Runecraft as a FF skill like it used to be back a ways. It's handy for cheap and easy ID and a few other things, and it makes it more fun for me, so I do it.

Decided to try another run with an evil Melkor-worshipping Demonologist, and decided ahead of time to wear only demon EQ and hunt down the Gothmog set. It was fun, but the blade, which I find in like every other game, took me until right at the end game to find. I was ready for Sauron on lvl 99, bud hadn't found the blade yet, so I went back to the Sandworm Lair and scummed for greater vaults which finally turned it up. The combination of Demonblade, Curse (lvl 30 with +sp from the One Ring) and vampirism was impressive. Also got lucky with FF quests and took Conveyance to 10, so this guy was a pretty versatile warrior-mage.

Also, the rod of Home Summoning all but undoes the disadvantage of the One Ring, since you can still get to all your homes as long as you're in the ruined city and zap the rod.

RoS +19 was the best I've ever seen, which I found in a RoS shop in Illusory Castle.
