Not sure what I should have done... I guess when I broke out of the shadow spider's web, I should have stepped back the way I came and not forward into the dark unknown. Seems like common sense. Those creeping horrors were kicking my ass anyway though. Does protection help against their acid attack? Before the acid annihilated me I had 8-31 protection and +18 evasion :(

I guess I didn't get a final screen. A shadow spider blocked me on the right and a creeping horror on the left. A Serpent was down the corridor from the horror.

This guy was tough as nails in melee but had problems with darkness monsters and fear.

It looks like you're still playing on the original release. The later versions include the death screenshot.

Creeping horrors move slowly, so you can normally avoid fighting them at all. But I can't quite see how the acid could have done as much damage as you say; perhaps you were blocking when you read off the 8-31 protection?

Oh... I didn't know about the slow movement :) Serves me right for just going and killing everything. All the more reason I shouldn't have gotten trapped like that. (Although I was beginning to think getting trapped would become inevitable, which is why I learned Crowd Fighting and Follow-Through.)

I was probably blocking, you're right.

I see you added 7 skill points onto Stealth. In the future, if you still like Stealth, try to get more points for Stealth (8 skill points) so that you can use 'Vanish.' Vanish helps *a lot* with getting away from these monsters, including Shadow Spiders and Creeping Horrors. :)
