This is partly the reason for the Ghoul scenario above. Basically to be able to attack you the monster has to make a roll for entering the rubble square - if it fails then it misses its turn.

No - if anything, I'd change the name to 'long staircases' and the message to 'you enter a maze of upward staircases, which are long'.

Some wilderness is supposed to be easy for some races. Desert is getting a new feature next time - sand dunes - so there will be less rubble. Also, traps in rubble are going to happen at some point. So enjoy it while it lasts.

I ran into a lurker in a wilderness level. Needless to say, it didn't blend in very well. Shouldn't these be confined to the dungeon?

And while I'm at it, should ents be able to eat food rations? I could see them eating mushrooms, maybe, or gaining sustenance naturally (or a foraging ability) while in a forested area.

Can someone tell be what the spell CL19 spell Hit and Run does? I don't want to learn a useless spell if I don't have to. Why isn't a brief description available before you learn a spell?

You may have stunned and/or confused the ghoul--shield bashes can do that. They make a big difference--all other things equal, you should always wear the heaviest shield you can carry.

They buy ent food - the general store also deals in garden supplies.

              From the O spoilers:
The next time the caster attempts to steal or attack, after the
steal attempt or the first successful blow the caster will be
              teleported randomly a distance of 6 + level / 5 spaces.

Good point. Anyone else see a good reason why?

Because telling the player the rules of the game is considered "spoiling" the experience of flailing away with no idea what the rules are. I am not being sarcastic. The [O] and [S] authors felt that way. I, as you know, think anything determined from the code except the RNG should be given in online help.

I have a question on recall points. Suppose I am in one town A, with a home in a different town B. I want to move the home to A, but keep a recall point to the town B.

What happens if I cast recall in A, and then move the home before the recall kicks in?

Yeah - I posted about that but it got promptly buried.

The only time (as far as I've found) the autoinscriptions kick in is when you add/modify/delete an autoinscription, and when you do it applies all of them to your inventory. Picking up or buying won't do it.

I'm not sure. Since you home doesn't move until you physically leave town A, I'd say you have a chance. Worst case scenario is you end up in town A and wasted a WoR (and have to walk back to town B to set a recall point). Then again, maybe you'll end up in Nowhere Town.

Recommendation: recall to town A, set a recall point immediately outside, then return to town B.

                          EDIT:
Then there's always the save, try it and find out, and if it doesn't work, kill the process. That's the one time I feel save-scumming is at least arguably OK. (I've done it for bugs, anyway, most recently the one where I wasn't sure if I could take off heavy curses with *Remove Curse*. I could, so no scumming was necessary.)

                            Bug in equipment attributes

Just spotted a bug looking at the ladder: Weapon of angband shows "+" for stealth, rather than "-".

Yes, this looks like the best workaround to me. A workaround is needed, because the home is deemed to be in the new town as soon as you agree to move there - so recalling will just land you back there again, and you will have a recall point in your home town.

I think the logical way for me to fix this is that if the player has a recall point in a town that they move to, this point gets changed to their old home town.

Yes, fair enough - although it's more of a lack of feature. Any "-" in the power section is against the player only - since originally the "+"s in that section were just "is affected by", rather than "adds to", and the player had to go and look up the pval. But now I've expanded on the resists, it does look inconsistent.
