What's the most annoying thing in Angband (without dying)?

I'm sort of with you on this. Angband is all about identifying danger and responding appropriately. It punishes greed and rewards conservative play and in depth game knowledge. I've not come across one of these gauntlet levels yet, but I suppose the first time I do I'll find myself in a similar tight spot. I don't think the floor tiles should be different but I do think a new flavour text on entry is necessary... Might I suggest "This level feels strangely oppressive..." or something. If you miss the level entry text then it's your own fault, but at least you were warned

Hobbit warrior found himself on a cavern level. Started fighting a huorn blind to see if I could. He got me low on health so I healed to see how badly I had him hurt--only half his health. So I _Teleported. Teleportation banned! What? Were those gloves I just put on cursed? I didn't see any ?? on them. If it wasn't for 4.2.2 thread talking about levels banning teleport I would have been seriously stumped and would have assumed the game was bugged. Fortunately I had some haste potions. I quaffed one and read a ?WoR. If this was an ironman game I'd be very extremely annoyed right now. Still very annoyed as I wasted a precious speed potion on this nonsense.

Would be nice if the floor tiles were different color or something to denote you are on a teleport-banned level. As it is currently implemented it just feels like a bug.

Yeah, I don't see the point in having resistances individually randomized either.

Resting after a big fight and it keeps interrupting as my Resistance spell wears off one element at a time.

I used to play without tiles most of the time. Now I'm playing with tiles, and I just met a night mare, seeing its tile for the first time. Why isn't it shaped like a horse?? What's the point of calling it a "night mare" instead of a "nightmare" if it isn't shaped like a horse?

You have no room for a Potion of Health.
    The Earth Hound breathes shards.
    The Potion of Health shatters!
You have been given a cut.

Good thing Sparky the Kobold Ranger [4.0.5] found an Iron Helm of Regeneration, or else he'd be dead. He's not finding enough healing potions to survive.

And the Temple clearly was expecting a paladin... !Heroism are flowing like hefeweizen at oktoberfest.

I'm currently playing as a high level mage, and one of the most satisfying things about the class is getting to cast banish Z on any level I'm planning to explore

Haha, if that homonculus had para-locked you to death you would have been justified in sending the keyboard through the screen.

My favourite moment was fighting Ulfast blind without realising it and still nearly killing him.

You want it to map the entire dungeon level? There are artifacts that can do this, also potions of enlightenment will do this.

I think you want the moon on a stick! haha

That could be a real problem with red/green colorblindness!
