Now fixed in development, fix will be in the next build (but I'll probably try to do at least the blow description fix as well first). Got two variables in the wrong order

Just redownloaded and double-clicking still doesn't work for me. I'm still running El Capitan (haven't upgraded to Sierra, yet). Haven't made any changes to the machine. The issue is brand new to the latest nightly. Very odd.

I did the copy monster.txt-->lore.txt and it does work, thank you, Nick. When not using a complete monster memory, however, there are still times that the memory does not update. E.g., Dethanc against a Spirit Troll, the memory did not update to show resistance to lightning, even though it is clear that is the case (both from my own memory and that the message is "hit" not "shock").

Latest build is up, and has fixed the (rather old, it turns out) bug of monster resistances to brands not showing up in monster memory, and the one of status (Speed, etc) not updating correctly.

You may also notice that the number of text files in lib/gamedata is increasing. I am currently on a drive to get as much as possible of the game's editable data pushed out to these files for ease of modifying the game. In particular, I would like to at some point in the future have all the game's messages in text files, which would make translating into different languages (should anyone want to) much simpler.

Here's another: branded ammo does not cause the resistances lore to be updated

Never mind... I tracked down what the problem was. I played a game of Rocketband and somehow the "default" app got switched over.

A fight with Orfax, son of Boldor causes CTDs (on Linux with the latest master). Seems to happen when he "dances around you". Save attached, just stand still and let Orfax do his thing.

Still having some kind of file management problems with the lore.txt file. In the latest nightly, I copy monster.txt and replace lore.txt, but then the game crashes on saving and a new file is created lore.txt.new.

OK, new build should be up soon, fixing the Orfax crash bug and also probably the lore issue. Very poor testing on my part of the previous build.

Pete - is the problem with branded ammo still in the latest build?

Cool, that bug should be fixed when you do, then.

Further to me "moving stuff to data files" comment - several of the recent bugs have been a result of that process for monster blow methods and effects

When you haven't successfully targeted a suitable target (ie. a monster) the game gives no indication. I keep wasting TO charges on dungeon walls. Would it be reasonable to suggest that TOing nothing not work?

There's a legitimate reason to target TO at a non-monster tile - if you think a monster that you can't see (invisible or unlit) is there.

It's more than that. You can target "behind" another monster--or even a wall--in many cases by targeting like this:

                              @**********
                              .........XX*********

I'm not sure I would characterize abuse of quirks of the projectile pathing system as "legitimate".
