Haven't been on rephial lately, so I don't know if this is actually new... but I love the gameplay synopsis on the home page! Yay for advertising

I think my favorite new feature in 3.5 is the inclusion of Dubtrain's sound pack by default... the old sounds might have been fine in like 1993 or so, but nowadays they're just horrendous! :P

Oh, hey, just noticed something again that's always irked me about the description of the birth_no_stairs option... it says it "never" generates staircases back, but wouldn't it be more accurate to say that it never generates them *on the tile you start on*? Like, you can still find additional staircases back, can't you? It's not ironman...

Also, the screen seems rather flickery when browsing spells in tiles mode...

It's kind of confusing, too, that you can use the arrow keys in shops to select items, but what item you have selected is irrelevant... well, I guess it can be useful for folks with wide screens to keep the various rows in line, so they don't get confused about which item costs/weighs what...

Sorry for all the questions and stuff, but I haven't played Angband in a while! So what's it mean when a weapon says "with additional +8str and +0dex you would attack a bit faster"? It seems to be some sort of prerequisite for getting +0.1 blows? Does this mean you have +0.05 blows or something, so you have a 50% chance to get +0.1 blows?

Oh, hey, idea! It would be nice to put yellow squares or something around all monsters in tiles mode. Some of them look kind of like items! :P

Is there any reason you have to manually toggle the descriptions when browsing spells? Why not have them on by default?

You read the scroll labeled NOBIMUS UPSCOTI...
You are surrounded by a stasis field!
The tengu tries to teleport, but fails!

        I'm glad someone appreciates it.

        Thanks for this.

You're right, it's confusing and I don't like it either.

Someone got annoyed. Ideally the game would just remember whether you wanted them on or off by default.

Where do bug reports go? Everytime I drop the Great Axe of Eonwe, it crashes the game =P it's quite repeatable, although discovering it the first time cost me about 2M XP and a couple of shiny new items, including a +2 EA MoD.

I'll have a look around and see if I can't find a place to file those.

Edit: Huh. Now a delayed crash after dropping Orome.

And no sign of a bug report option at rephial, or perhaps I'm just blind... I am playing a Dwarf, though...

            Edit: Throwing it crashes too.

Bugs can go here. I've added it as #1811 (http://trac.rephial.org/ticket/1811). If you could post additional information or possibly a save file, that'd be helpful.

Yup, because if you generate the artifact with the debug command and drop it, the game doesn't crash. I suspect it has something to do with the "ë" in the artifact name, but maybe it's system-related (Win7 here).

                  I also use windows 7.

I'm reluctant to attach the savefile, because if I die, I'll be severely tempted to come back here, download it again, and pretend nothing happened, lol.

I suppose if that's the only way to get to the bottom of it, though, I'll send it along.

Or I would, if I didn't get this:
                  Code:
                  Upload Errors
                  Krait:

How are you dropping it? Using 'd' or using the mouse-driven menus?

                      Mouse driven menus?

Heh. I've been playing since Moria. I'm far too used to the keyboard commands to switch to mouse control at this point - hell, I didn't even know there were mouse driven menus other then the windows ones.

In any case, yes, I'm using the "d" key. Throwing via "v" also crashed the game.

I backed up my savefile after killing Morgoth but before kinging, and while I can't seem to attach it to the forum post, I'll see about sending it to you.

Perhaps squelched items shouldn't show up in the stores? Or maybe they could be that near black shade of ascii gray.

I'm still getting a garbled mess when trying to change font sizes from the start up of the game, the defaut is something like 8x8 i think for term 0, unless you change it to something small like 5x8 it becomes unreadable, I like to play with at least 12x24 or higher, sometimes 16x16, or 16x24. This has been happening since 3.4.0, not sure why, but it's pretty aggravating, I want to play 3.5.0, but it seems to take a lot of toying around with the fonts to get them configured right. Would really wish for a true full screen version of the game without all these fonts, thanks.

I'm using Ubuntu Linux 13.04, using wine for the windows version, by defaut it displays fine although small, once I try to change the font to a bigger font for term zero the display gets jumbled up. To get it work I had to select a 10x20 term zero font, roll up a character start game. From that point I turn off graphics and go pure acii, switched term o font size to 16x32 and then changed term zero window to 16x24, it displayed correctly at that point although a tad to big as everything is a little stretched. I can get things to display correctly eventually, I am just wondering why the fonts are getting jumbled up, I am wondering if termo O font and term O window have to kind of be the same to display properly...you can't adjust term 0 font until you start the game however, kind of forcing you to go through the initial start with a small font size in which i think is hard to read.

also when you click on (file) and the (new) for the new the game the selection of character gender (male, female, neuter) is invisible with only the block cursor there, once you select the gender however it clears back up again and you can read the words again,
