i've poked around with a couple alts in tome2.
as far as i can tell, the bug occurs when a character that doesn't have a savefile leaves the game without saving (by closing the tab). the result is a savefile that crashes the game when it is loaded.
unrelatedly, i really appreciate the site; many thanks to gwarl for maintaining it.

Mod Action Requested
User [Ajencis] would like their ToME2 main module save deleted, as it is borked.
They don't actually need any of the ToME2 saves under the account, to make it simple, but it's the main module one they're specifically worried about.
EDIT: Also Nick would like to inquire about his broken FA update button again.Leave a comment:

Either the purpling functionality is broken again, or you changed it and everyone is under a gross misunderstanding on how it works . . . "Ajencis" died in postgame after winning in Frog, and did not get their purple, where to everyone's knowledge that I've seen you're supposed to get purple if you've killed Morgoth or J on character end afterwards, regardless of death or retirement.
Did you change the criteria after the great a.l crash? Pretty sure it worked how everyone thought before that.
EDIT: Also, one of Omni's many accounts ("Kerberos" I think?) spontaneously got purpled, although he is unaware of winning . . . maybe the functionality did just break.Leave a comment:

Sneak peek:
Planning to work more on this before I actually link it but as a proof of concept we can get information about causes of death now. It will take a while to build up a lot of data. I should have started years ago.Leave a comment:

Regarding Github sponsors;
I've lost the phone I was using to get 2FA access codes for github and have thereby lost access to the account. Payouts are manged by a 3rd party service which I can still access, but it's still less than ideal to be unable to access the github sponsors panel itself.
I'd like to ask anyone who's currently signed up to cancel their payments for now. There have been several one-off donations lately which will cover the server costs for the next couple of months while I sort this out.Leave a comment:

The error message is "execvp(3) failed: No such file or directory"...Leave a comment:

I updated it a few hours ago to code that is working fine on my dev machine. It's the first time I've updated, so code at my end, update process and code at the server end are all possible culprits.Leave a comment:

Not quite sure whether this is a Nick thing or Gwarl thing, but NarSil no longer works for me; it instantly crashes or something on startup. There's an error message, but sadly I can't read it fast enough to quote it.Leave a comment:

You may want to do a systems check on the server or something; was bugtesting Narsil and apparently procced something that seemed like it might've been code doing bad things. Nick said like a memory access bug or something?
