I wish I could say yes, but it's still 3-4 weeks before it's 100% complete (with terrain, objects, spells etc in addition to the bunch on monster/npc tiles)

Managed to paint all the weapons for Angband tonight (leaving out the various ammo such as missiles, shots etc which will come in one of the next posts here)

More angband tiles: most of the ammo this time, with a few variations:

              THAT was funny.

Your tiles are amazing. I sincerely hope you get addicted to NPP someday.

I won't rule out any other Angband version graphics upgrades once Vanilla Angband is complete, but I think I'll have to take a week or two off from painting once this current tileset is done...or face the wrath of an angry girlfriend

Not one of my most productive days, daytime job is boring the hell out of me and that sometimes affects the lust to paint...

Anyways, here's more Angband tiles, slowly getting the objects list complete:

Come to think of it, that would make a pretty scary tile itself.
If beauty is in the eye of the beholder, then why are beholders so freaking ugly?

Yeah, imagine finally finding Morgoth, then having the angry GF tile popping up, killing Morgoth then coming after you with a rolling pin in her hands...

These are wonderful, very lovingly executed!

I imagine it must have been tricky to differentiate some of these. Cutlass, tulwar, and scimitar for example. Is the Blade of Chaos the Flamberge-looking one?

For me the Main Gauche is especially exquisite. Wish I could paint like that! The sling is also great, it seems like a shame to waste the tile on such a modest weapon

Spot on, the one to the bottom-left is the Blade of Chaos.

With a background of lots of gaming and roleplaying, it was an easy task to paint these, with a little help of my Rolemaster rpg books

I'm hoping that somewhere down the line, Angband will allow for using various tiles of the same object, so that you'd perhaps see 3-4 Tulwars next to eachother but with minor differences and perhaps they'll be shown after what condition they're in (rusty, broken, excellent etc)

When I've done my affixes branch, this should work perfectly!

Yay! Looking forward to that, even though it means painting more tiles

Will the new code perhaps be made so that you call for a specific image rather than calling upon a portion of a large tilesheet, when you want to display for example a specific battleaxe? In other words, moving from huge tilesheets, to separate images for everything? It might sound like alot of work, and I'll personally voulenteer to add all the filenames to the code, if that helps making it so
