Being satiated but without food and without feeding spell (and no spells left to pray for), i managed to get back to Bree. It was night, stores were locked, i had not enough food to wait it to the daytime. I could have stayed in the lvl1 searching for food, but instead gave it a shot with the BRoBree. A heroic fight of epic proportions. The rod of light turned cherry-red from the heat of the overuse. Used up all charges of staff of speed, all flasks, all undead-affecting potions, had to slay innocent townsfolk that was picking up ammo, finally ended up on 50Hp, 0Sp, no healing potions left, but with +ToE (Tons of Exp). Yay me.

The next step was somehow confusing. Being new to the Una, and having never been to any tower yet, i got pretty confused by down staircase in the weathertop base level. The staircase went to lvl 19, with BRoWtop sitting there happily, and all stairs going up. It was after lots of frustrations that i noticed the hazy gloom in the center holding some up stairs. Yay me.
Lvl 30 of the tower, about to get ready to enter the top. An unidentified scroll. "Funky, lets try it". Whoops, here goes my longsword of slay nature, enchanted with scroll of vampire's kiss. Yieeeks.

Some stair scumming, and a new weapon soon appeared.
After getting to lvl 31, and some two near-death-experiences, i decided the ground level to be the proper place to fight the blackie.
Some comments on the fight:
- the dart attack hurst a lot. C'mon, 65d5 on a ranged poison attack on monster you face when lvl 20-25? Ok, i did have poison resistance, both temporary (which run out a bit before the final 2 rounds) and permament (sitting happily @house, decided the +50hps from +con are more valuable)
- halflings rock! Drain-my-exp nyah nyah nyah.
- the wraithform floor hiding is highly frustrating, but pretty funny overall. Makes monster much more challenging.
- temporary fire resist is for the weak.. *cough* Went out 3 round before the final, and i did not bother to renew it. A grave mistake.
- the duration on protection from evil is way too random. 1d25? In my case it lasted for some 2 rounds. It might valuable to change it to 10+d15 or even +d20.

Now some general comments:
- there are too few means of curing disease_disease. maybe add some mushrooms of cure plague?
- shouldn't bags change weight? Like start with wgt 5, and add 1/2 of weigth of items inside?
- bag of scrying could have name changed to bag of divinations. Identify is more divination magic than scrying one.
- for some strange reason was unable to use Id scrolls from within bag of scrying. It kept on telling me i have nothing to identify (i did have some unidentified potions/weapons in my inventory at that time).

Umm, there are some roughly 1024 more bug/feature entries i came up with while playing, and i did write them down, all of them. I just do not have the file with me at this moment. I'll be sure to send it all to the AD at some convinient time, or just post it all on berlioz site. For now it's what i remember offhand.
Overall: a decent variant. Keep up the good work!

- potions of speed are night-useless. It's only good for finishing. Like there's a long and hard fight, and at the end of it you're running out of resources.
The exhaustion is too dangerous to use temp speed in the beggining/middle phase of dangerous fights, and for easy fights it's also not neccesary, except maybe for some serious stuff-destroyers.

- objects/egos with variable rune components? right now it's only '2 such runes for this, and add 2 more same runes for that'. Why not make it possible for variable runes composition?

- it might be me, but the TIME attack does not seem to have any additional effect on monsters.

- when browsing the second paladin book, the short description of spell 'striking' said it is 3d6 damage. When selecting the spell for browsing, it said it's more like '7d6'. Guess short descriptions do not show the scaled damage.

- while we're at the damage scaling - some damage modes do not seem to scale damage at all.

- and digging the topic more thorougly - why not make it so ALL spells that are of level equal or less are castable. And the spell stat would affect the POWER of these spells, instead of their number. Like having int of 18/10 would add 1 spell power level, and 18/30 another, etc.

- the idea for bards able to use all books is.. not that great IMHO. They already have a great number of slots taken by songbooks and various instruments. Instead, they should just have their own songbooks/instruments and that is it. Maybe add them some area damage effect songs - of disharmony (sound damage) or something alike.

About =A inscription: This doesn't work on all items, only on those that say: "you can inscribe =A..." For those it does work, it also works when wielding a weapon.
