After YASD in the final battle with my dwarf priest last week, I decided to go with an old-fashioned warrior. After a few early deaths due to powerdiving to reach statgain-depth, I got there (with the help of an early find of the nifty Angrist) who's currently looking good at around 2000 feet. Naturally I've found the least amount by a far margin of those essential potions, but I decided to dive carefully anyway since I covered poison ... and take the !oCON as they come. I've got detection from Holhenneth - so with care I can go a bit lower. We'll see if this aggressive decision will kill off the fifth of his line.

Got CON up relatively fast, even if it's the last (of course ...) to be maxed out. Found an ESP Amulet and then got Boots of Speed and Thror on consecutive levels, so things are looking up for Thud.

Still descending he really starts to need those elusive high resists Nether, Chaos ... and soon Disenchant. Well .. I'll throw in the last - Nexus as well, but it's not exactly highest on my wish-list =). Hold Life would of course be good to have as well.

Dived further and further after my last update as per planned with this character. I have consequently been leveling very fast. Found Robe of Perm that gave Nether and HL ... and Anduril for Disenchant.

Now speed is a *major* problem, but I'm almost at speed-ring depth, so I carefully search each level and teleport away anything nasty until i can grab one of those.

After that, at 3750 feet, other good items come fast and good now that he can fight the baddies =) .

The Golden Crown of Gondor is the latest addition to the arsenal, which covers up most of the missing resists.

He really would be pleased with some other form of Poison resist (non-aggravating - I'd rather not aggravate unless it's a *really* good item to use) than the ring he's using, but otherwise he's ok ... for now. =)

After getting his hands on a speed ring, Thud could start hacking through the hordes at around 4000ft and hence he's got serious upgrades in equipment due to the fine drops there.

Note that he's not yet seen a Rod of Detection (!) or Enlightenment. Hence using Elendil/Thrain for their activations. He's using the Ring of Tulkas for its Haste-spell.

Now Thud aims to extinguish the uniques and of course he's looking for some good items - mainly speed. Also saves items for the final battle. The healing potions are kind of dry at the moment, due to clashes with the "Big Angels". Saving up now (Teleporting away monsters that most probably willl require healing - more than once from Gondor).

Ah well - back to business.
