Second serious attempt at a RK Paladin. This time I've got through most of the Orc Caves (Deathwatch already cleaned). Next in the list is Azog, then I may go straight to Mirkwood for quests (unlucky with FF so far). I can't say the same with the princess' rewards...DLvl7, some green dragon flies --> Boots of Speed +4 :D. That nice cleaver in the inv was dropped by Wormtongue in DLvl3, another early lucky find.

On 24.1.2004 22:57 dalbeider@yahoo.es wrote:
Mirkwood done, quite easy overall. FF only gave Summoning as an interesting side skill (well, he gave Necromancy thrice, but it doesn't fit quite well with the paladin theme, so I passed it). The princess has been a bit more generous, with Thengel and Belangil as the biggest prizes. Now, time to rescue poor Merton and kill some pesky spiders, then I'll go for the sandworm lair, looking for stats and vaults.

On 26.1.2004 00:04 dalbeider@yahoo.es wrote:
Merton rescued, Maze and Sandworm Lair done, both in one trip, and Eol and Uvatha are no more. Uvatha died to lots of Pulverize and some bolts to finish, and Eol spent half of the combat confused because of a lucky Mindwave, and the other half trying (unsuccessfully) to dodge Belangil's thrusts. All too easy, the RNG is keeping something for me, I'm sure :S. Now going through Rhun, just for the sake of it. I need a decent ring urgently, that Slow Digestion one seems a joke.

On 29.1.2004 19:33 dalbeider@yahoo.es wrote:
All resists but nexus covered, and I'm pretty sure some equipment juggling will eventually yield that one, too (that defender boomerang in Lothlorien is calling me...).

Done with Rhun, Ulfang's randart was one of the crappiest randart armors I've ever seen (yet it sold for 17k gold...figures). Still, got pretty lucky, finding *two* market levels in a row (28 and 29) there, one with speed ring and potion shops (will have to drop again by there when I save some gold), and the other with a rare jewelry shop. Pretty useful, really. The rest of the dungeon was *boring*. Now I have to choose between Moria or going straight to Mordor...we'll see.

On 30.1.2004 16:36 dalbeider@yahoo.es wrote:
Finally covered nexus resist, thanks to yet another randart ring...looks like the elven ringmakers of old were quite busy in my alternate Middle-Earth :P. Finally skipped Moria by now, I'll probably pay a visit later just to clear Orc Town. Going through Mordor now, questing all the way down.

On 1.2.2004 00:06 dalbeider@yahoo.es wrote:
Had the nice idea of wearing a simple ring of nether resistance instead of one of the randarts, thus allowing me to swap in both Rohirrim and Beor, which give a nice +6 boost to speed, without losing any resistance. CLvl 39 already, this is already my best non-cheating character. I'm having some fun (ahem) with my last FF quest in Mordor-45: 15 Skull Drujs :S. I'm just glad this wasn't a princess quest, entering her room would have been suicidal (as my previous RK Demonologist character knew too well...)

On 2.2.2004 20:27 dalbeider@yahoo.es wrote:
Eye drujs, Hell Knights, Old Sorcerors...quests are getting funnier by seconds :P. And the rewards shittier, of course...

Crap...I was meleeing a dracolich with about 350 HP left, and thinking about teleporting, when another dracobastard behind him breathed nether for almost 500 damage, even with resistance...Well, that's life (or death).
