Before April 29's dump, I was using :
- various weapons, like Falas for its drain attack, Atarlome for its vorpal attack or Merlin's for the MP (mana points),
- a wizardy +2 ring, a crown of magi +3 and
- the leather armor Iron Maiden

As a consequence, I had a higher MP (usually 484, up to 566 with Merlin's sword, instead of 361), but lower HP (509 instead of 612) due to lower constitution. I also had lower strength, stealth, sensing and I needed some resistances (poison, confusion !, chaos & disenchant).

As I wanted to clear the dragon camp, I needed those resistances ! And, after all, the new equipment is better :

- Daidub ring for confusion, chaos & drain resistances,
- Tenyo's hagaromo for the sustain and levitate, and
- the crown of Ultimate Defense for the +4 augmentation and nether resistance.

It just makes Alec6 have a funny look : a robe, small shield and sword, crown. Not really like a warrior : base AC (armor class) is 13, +129 although (and +50 with Stone Skin). Which is useful as I like to fight by hand some monster, either low level's or those not so dangerous, like maulotaur. I just need to use a dimension door sometimes, to heal myself.

In the beginning, mage's life is very hard: it is difficult to avoid being killed, and distance weapon (sling, bow or crossbow) is necessary as you never have enough mana points (MP), but the last (crossbow) is generally too expensive in stores and cannot be found at low levels.

No mistake most of the winners in this variant are spell casters. v0.32 was almost impossible for melee as some monsters had super AC. in v0.33 it was balanced.
