Sir Kay was easy, and dispatched very early on (prior to the barrow downs). Garath also was not too bad, though the summon spamming is annoying and the cowardice of the Knights of the Round Table is legendary. I mean, they summon aid constantly and run away when hurt, leaving their minions to fight for them? That doesn't seem right :)

Sir Gawain is a little higher up the food chain, apparently, and his mana bolts were life threatening. Fortunately, I brought plenty of CCW and after 15 minutes chasing him about and dodging the army of petty Camelot Knights (see below), I prevailed.

Of course, this all started when I spotted my second Camelot monster all game: Sir Lancelot. So far, the honorable Knights of Camelot have summoned Gareth, Gawain and more than 25 petty Camelot Knights. Which goes to show the code limiting their numbers to 10 is broken (actually, you need to start a completely new savefile for it to work apparently, but that will be fixed next release).

Lancelot is extremely deadly! I've nearly killed him twice so far, but he always uber summoned and I had to flee. Somehow, I need to hit him with 30 or so pulverises and *not* have him summon? Its rather tough!

You should really try Camelot with only 50 to 60 hp of damage output ... It is quite exhilarating!

Oh, The Vault quest spawned incredi-hard, with Botei-building the biggest threat. Logrus Masters and a dagon for hallucination fun and tons of hounds. Plus, everything awake thanks to my "dwarven singing"? So I bailed without making an attempt ... but Robin Hood later dropped Werewindle which is quite a bit better than Sting.

Quick update: Sir Galahad is down! And this time I get the Holy Grail, along with a Reflecting Shield. Well, melee wasn't a good option anyway.

11 Knights of Camelot down. I'm not sure how many remain alive on this level, but no more new ones should spawn. Then I'll give Lancelot another brave attempt!

And poof! He's down! Speed +15 and AC 152 but only ~60 damage. In the end, it was enough!! Pulverise won't stun a unique, but it will displace them, often out of line of sight. So I was able to spam Clear Mind about 50x during the battle for an extra 250sp.

He didn't summon this time (Command to Return x4, Fail x1, Heal x3). In the end, I was worried he would out heal me as he seemed to regain quite a bit more than I was dishing out. For my final move, he had creeped next to me, was at 1 star and warming up either his healing spell or is terrifying slashing blade, I'm not sure which. I risked a pulverise rather than blink and fortunately, it was enough.

BTW, if he did summon, he would (should?) have just gotten normal knights now that all the Camelot Knights are down (except Arthur). I was actually hoping to test the code but it didn't happen. I guess its up to Arthur ... Can I take him?

Maybe Knights of the Round Table (sans Kay) should all be given HEAL as a spell choice to encourage them to fight? Maybe we need to shift damage around so they have reasonably good SHOOT damage?

For example, Camelot Knight 4d6-3d8-3d8 -> 6d8-2d6-2d6?
Gareth 4d6-4d6-3d8 -> 8d6-2d8-2d8?
Galahad 15d1-4d6-3d8 -> 25d1-2d6-2d8?

OK, Arthur is down after a brief tour for DQI (ring of flames) and the Orc Caves (ring of ice). Both diversions were fortuitous as the orc reward was thievery and the orc caves had Thranduil in a vault.

Arthur was again a let down, but perhaps during my long battle with Lancelot I grew too powerful? Also, his attacks are elemental which I could ignore and as a Mindcrafter, I easily played keep away. He never tried to summon.

During the cleanup, I picked up a lucky potion of con for +100hp. Now that was nice! I also ran into Morgana whom I left alone this time. I have Sound resistance at home and will use that when the time is ripe. But for now, I can't trade 60hp pulverises with her power even if my reflection shield cuts her power in half. Maybe I'll luck into a wand of rockets or something?

I also spotted a granite wall but could only kill 100 or so before running too low on food.

I'm giving up quite a bit for a smidgen of melee. Up until 5 minutes ago I had 4 attacks for 84 damage, but also had a 181 AC, poison and shards resists and reflection. Melee actually worked well, but took forever. Speaking of reflection, the Mirror Shield reward is hugely useful this early, so I think it should stay.

Finally a shop stocked some elvenkind armor with nexus, and it was off to the races. -70 AC. -RPois. -RShards. -Reflection. But 4 attacks for 184 damage, which is a world better. I finally took out GHMMWQ who completely out healed me before the swap, healing every single round until it would get back to 5 stars. After 50 stars of damage dealt in excruciatingly slow fashion, I decided to bail. This time, 20s and done! But nothing nice for a drop ...

The real reason I made the switch was for that uber annoying Questing Beast. I won't spoil, but I could finally take her, and the drop was Rohirrim. So 5 blows for 240. About an hours work for Dave to reach this point but alas, almost 5 hours for me.

Last 4 unidentified potions: Int, Wis, Dex, Str. That only leave Chr unaccounted for but it is sad going 4.5 hours with only a single kind of stat potion found (although 3x Con ain't that bad).

Morgana still makes me shudder, but she is the only Camelot unique still standing. Mordred was surprisingly easy and hardly fear inspiring at all!

And ... They're gone! A ran into Morgana and figured I'd give her a go. She woke up and scared me before I could get next to her. After I lost a move, she pelted me 120 or so damage with her awesome magic. I stepped in, shook off fear to Uneasy status, landed a full round of blows during which time Werewindle chimed in with some nice random slays (including Slay Human) and decimated her down to 5 stars. Hmmm? Maybe I have a chance. More fear, but I fought through it anyway and finished her off! A couple weak arts for my troubles ...

So Camelot is truly conquered, and I call: First! :D

Hah! I'm playing damage catch up, but still trailing. Hellfire nets my last attack so 7 blows for 357, though playing without Poison and Shards resists is a bit stupid.

Still no potions of charisma, though my next unidentified potion was augmentation, a pleasant surprise (followed by Life).

Melee is so OP at this point in the game. I'm not sure what I'd be doing if my damage output was still capped at 60.

Both quest rewards were lesser. 7 blows for 406 now is total domination, except when a Greater Titan bashed for 400 in a single round (AC 170). Ouch!

I sacked a slaying ring for Poison resistance, even though I have it from the spell. A single breath catching me with my pants down would still kill me with 140hp to spare. So it is quite necessary ... but at least let me score Frakir!

Honestly, the only reason I'm able to go faster is because of 49 quests. Why don't you use that? It really reduces the early level grind.

Close calls vs Shudde and Baphomet tell me it is time to call it a night. I try to play sans healing, and Werewindle is willing to pitch in surprisingly often to assist that endeavor, but eventually the monsters are ... too ... damn ... strong!

Good damage and all resists, but rather poor speed. I guess we know what I want next!

Oy, I think I need to start yet another character with standarts... randarts are totally overpowered right now (see Craze's dump).

I guess I should try random quests 6 too, to "get the full experience." Especially since I have the nagging feeling that 49 random quests won't be around forever ;-)

Or wait, is it 10 random quest = standard? It's been too long...
