So for low-level spells, there is essentially no net effect; I can still get down to the minimum fail rate. It took rather a long time after killing Morgoth to hunt down and kill the last few uniques, since I was reduced to resting in order to restore mana, but eventually they were all put down.

You are correct about the mana efficiency - I was thinking of rogues/rangers for the GR spell cost. The factor of 2 makes all the difference. Good to know.
