Feature suggestion:
Chardumps should include ring bearers similar to monsters mimicked/possessed. And if possible, include if the monsters were charmed, attracted by glitter, or neither.
Does this mean I'm missing something? Is there some way to keep more "long term" unded cmpanions?
I'm playing my first Necromancer who has survived more than a short time (CL27). I've had hundreds of raised corpses and summoned bats and a handful of controlled undead (mainly crypt creeps). Seems a bit too big and messy to include in a dump? Which is why I'm wondering if I'm missing something.
I just noticed that high mages got their bonuses to spellpower, magic mastery, and device power removed a ways back. I can't see a compelling enough reason to favor the high mage over any other sort of mage without their hallmark spellpower. I don't mind losing the mastery or device power really, just the spellpower.
I don't understand why the spellpower bonus was removed. I guess 5 high mage ladder winners, 4 from chris himself, made them seem too powerful? I mean heck, chris' pre-nerf High Mage of Nature "Wrathena" STILL wasn't in a position to use Nature offense magic in the endgame! I'd really like to know more of the thinking that went into the nerf.
I'm definitely undoing this in my local version, but it saddens me that I now won't be comfortable posting to the ladder any high mages I make with the nerf reverted.
edit: @chris I still love your game and the work you put into it! I don't want negativity to be all you hear!

As long as you are upfront about it (e.g. mention in first post or whatever), I don't see any great harm in posting with a "custom" version. Obviously this might be different (and rather pointless) if you were using a custom version with 10K HP/SP and infinite regenereation (etc.) As long as it's not terribly unbalancing, I don't see the harm. In fact, I've posted characters for a slightly customized Angband without Nexus stat scrambling (for instance) and with a tweaked HP/CON curve.
