I'm wondering if it has something to do with shapechanging; I've been playing a Beorning and spending a lot of time in bear form - maybe it has to do with ammo fired while in animal form.

Also, I've found that all shapechanges are permanent as soon as I have enough skill to use them rather than initially only being temporary.

Edit: just tested the ammo pickup with arrows with a new character and the same thing happens when not in animal form.

Just had an odd incident a few seconds ago. I was wielding a ball-and chain and wearing a wicker shield and Feldisham dropped a flail. I picked it up, then went to wield it. I got the "this weapon is too heavy to wield with either of your existing weapons, replace them both?" prompt. I answered yes and my shield became unworn. I promptly re-wore the shield, and the game let me do so without further incident.

EDIT: Oh wow, this is annoying. I then found a spiked club and test-wielded it and got the "too heavy" prompt once again. Having thereby pseudod it I decided to go back to the flail. I didn't re-wear the shield in the meantime. EVEN STILL I got the "too heavy" prompt.

Interesting. Examining the message log, I see that I'm getting messaged on the contents of my off hand slot during switches no matter what's in there. For example:

      Replace them both? y
You were wearing a Wicker Shield {good} (j)
      You were wielding a flail (2d6) {Feldisham, good} (m)
      You are wielding a Spiked Club (1d7) {unknown} (a)
You feel the Spiked Club you are attacking with is actually good...
This weapon in too heavy to wield with either of your existing weapons.
      Replace them both? y
You were wearing (nothing) (`). The Superbowl commission had to pay a hefty fine for your brief appearance onscreen.
      You were wielding a Spiked Club (1d7) {good} (m).
      You are wielding a Flail (2d6) {Feldisham, good} (a).

So you ride yourselves over the fields and you make all your animal deals and your wise men don't know how it feels to be thick as a brick.

Browsing the different forms available through shapechanging does not seem to be working.

If I browse bear form, it just says 'assume the form of a bear.' For any of the other available forms, it just displays a blank area with no text.

Also - is it intended that serpent form gets -2 invisibility? I can see why it would be for Maia if they glow with light, but it seems a bit strange for a serpent.

The online help for shapechanging calls it shapechaning. This is unconscionable, as everyone knows that shapechan is actually the anonymous imageboard for geometry fetishists.

The same typo is in the manual.

Edit: The help for warrior talents has a nonstandard indentation level in the manual and online help. In the online help only, it also fails to line-wrap.

One more small shapechange oddity: Bear form (available to me via the skill, not race) is listed on the screen for the normal talents, while Unchange and the other shapechanges are not.

...and another one. Negative invisibility is indicated on the status line with the "mild invisibility" color. I'd expect either no indicator or an indicator in a "this is bad" color... preferably the former.

Beornings have no character backgrounds. (Woses and Ents do have them.)

Ents don't have fire vulnerability for their @ on the character screen, even though their description says they are vulnerable to fire.

                  Some piddling notes:

The cmdlist.txt line for shapechanging is uncapitalized.

There's a period missing at the end of the first sentence of the help for warrior talents.

Capitalization style (Whole Phrase vs. Partial phrase) for Number of Blows/Number of Shots is inconsistent with rest of character screen.

Piddling note of the year award:

There's an excess linebreak before the Wose paragraph in the manual.

Allowing monsters to target the player round corners also seems to let them target through walls.

                    I've uploaded a screenshot: http://angband.oook.cz/screen-show.php?id=1905

The demonologist above me (I assume, as it's the only thing nearby) is able to target me with dark balls in my current location - I've just used a staff of Detect Evil to show the location of the monsters.

Yeah, that sounds likely. I'll fix it tonight.

Ok, this is fixed in SVN. It was a combination of the "splash" code and the "target player in walls" code that combined poorly.

Another bug: I just got a quest on a shallower dungeon level than the previous quest; after defeating 17 Law drakes on DL 43, the next quest is 20 Bile elementals on level 42.

I encountered a PB1 on dungeon level 45. Which is awesome! Did you make some changes in this area that you forgot to record in the changelog, or was this just a fluke?

The description for Blood Seeper calls it a "wicked blade," but the ego can be on hafted weapons.

They will drop deeper in the dungeon now. I guess it didn't make the list.
