Better to still use 1.0.1, but copy lib\pref\pref-win.prf from 1.0.0. Savefiles can be loaded by either version (as far as I'm aware...)

One thing I see in both is that there are some incorrect spell names showing up in Battle Magic ( last spell is listed as Rune of Magic Influence while the description looks like Hold Monsters) and Magical Defence where the first spell is listed as Hold Monsters but works as Clear Mind, and all the other spell names (but not descriptions or details) are pushed down one with Strengthen Defenses not showing up.
Thanks for this - I made a last minute change to spell placement, and apparently failed to move the names correctly. There will be a 1.0.2 before too long.

FAangband 1.0 and 1.0.1 minor bugs

I updated to 1.0.1 from 1.0 and am finding it much less stable. The arrow keys don't work for me on Win XP, so I was using the numbers but had many movement related crashes. Back to 1.0.

Anyway, even with these difficulties this has been a lot of fun to play and the new mage spells are interesting. The lack of any cure spells certainly changes what's valuable.

    Regards,
    Jonathan

Girdle of Melian at work ?
Nothing has changed with the map, and it all looks in order. Looks to me like player error or divine intervention

    Wizard mode is broken
Started in Gladden Fields, activated Wiz Mode, went into the wilderness, was killed, was thrown back into Gladden Fields, but seemingly stuck somewhere - "@" is not visible, all movement results in "There's a wall in the way!"
Debug-PhaseDoor got me into the "working" area of the map again ...
Yes, the player placement doesn't deal with wizard mode properly, and it's not a very high priority for me to fix it. But I probably will some time.

In previous releases weren't the recommended options (auto-more, term1 messages, centre player) already on by default? And what are the new touch screen buttons (m1a,m0b,nox) for? I remember seeing them a couple version ago, but they disappeared in either 0.3.5 or 0.3.6. They all seemed to be mapped to m as well.
I've probably used on old version of the button code. I'll look into that and post here when it's fixed.

Yes, I should have mentioned that. There's a lot of calculation to be done on the first start up, and it's actually the speed of the DS processor that's making it take a long time.

    Yes, indeed.

And -for added malignity- make some items have both types of curses
Currently either all curses are shown or none are - that is an appealling idea, though...

Btw., up to now I like what I have seen of the new curses, what is not much, I must admit. Lightyears better than simply "this sucks, throw it away" type of items: I'm really using that wolfskin at the moment, and I'm pretty sure it will get me killed with it's low-level poisoning, or the drugging, soon. After all, it just saved me from those nasty white "Z" ...
Nice - this is just the sort of dilemma I was aiming for.

calulation of starting HP seems off
Adan rogue starts with 36/38 HP (or something like that ... memory again..); CON was boosted to 18/10 (7pts IIRC)
That's an odd one. You hadn't just taken the Athletics specialty, had you?
Figured that out - rogue starts with "Dagger of the Noldor (+1)", which boosts CON +1. This +1 is not figured in on "turn 0".

I presume this is not suppose to happen, as "now regular ID shows everything except curses, which are
discoverable either by *ID* or (automatically) noticing when they show up."
NO, this is OK. "Standard" curses on items are discoverable by regular ID - in this case, this ego type always has this curse. Some ego types (and randarts) have random curses; these are the ones you can't get from regular ID.
Maybe you should add that to the readme.

Odd; I don't know what is causing that. I'll look into it.

    Selling prices are off
Selling a *average* broadsword to the travelling merchant results in ~100 gold, selling a *average* spear only nets 12 gold (numbers may be a little bit off, as this is from memory, but we're talking orders of magnitude here anyway...)
Prices are now, um, different. They may need some tweaking.

arrows keys are broken in most menues now
.. but not all: Sometimes they work, but only in one direction or the other. Inconsistency can be annoying, too
Assuming you're using windows, you could try copying the pref-win.prf file from 1.0.0 and see if you prefer that.

Number keys do not work in (F)iring menue
.. for choosing quivers slots, despite the text says so - but thats an old bug aint it?
Again, it's the pref file thing. I'll have to think about this.

ID (not *ID*) resulted in fully recognised curses on "perilous" item
Reading a "Scroll of Identify {25% off} on a "Hard Leather Armor [6] {perilous}" resulted in full description text, plus "It gives you -1 to your charisma. It provides resistance to frost (55%), It renders you fearless. It is cursed; it occasionally poisons you and sometimes makes you hallucinate. It cannot be uncursed. You know all the curses on this object. It cannot be damaged by frost".

Travelling merchant is missing the (l)ook command option hint in the bottom text
    Works nevertheless, though.
Hm, that must have been missing for a while.

?TL results in (Dungeon) show up on (M)ap screen :
I read a ?TL on Talath Dirnen 20, taking me to Underworld 21, then another one to take me up again ... and as I wasn't sure where I ended up, I looked at the (M)ap .. and it showed a (Dungeon) entry below Talath Dirnen 20, right to the left of Ephel Brandir, where surely is no dungeon normally ...
Yes, this is a minor funniness with the way I handle teleport level in wilderness which I haven't bothered to fix. I should, and probably will at some point.

OK, that's the "Nick is a moron" error. You can fix it by going to the top of all the files in lib/edit and changing the line "V:1.0.0" to "V:1.0.1", or you can wait for me to upload the correct thing in 10 hours or so.
