I have to drop a note here and say thanks to Shockbolt for the Angband tileset.

I have NEVER liked any of the various tiles in most rogulikes and have always preferred ASCII, but Shockbolts tiles are outstanding and I have come to prefer them so much I doubt I will be able to play another RL without them.

    Kudos!

I used his tiles for a non-Angband project, with his permission.

What did you use to contact him? I sent him a message via his site digitalartwork.no and left him a comment on DA profile, but haven't heard back and it's been 1,5 week. I don't know if the site's message function is even working or what.

If not for the permission requirement, which I want to respect, I'd just go ahead with the tiles...

Just leave him a PM on this forum, I'm sure he visits here quite often.

I used to email him via his @digitalartwork.no address.

He is a pretty busy guy, I know.

Nearing the end of a few crazy years, and I'm slowly sliding back into my old art projects, the fantasy art kits and my graphic novel project..and tiles for roguelike games now and then :-)

The question above has been resolved, I've said it's ok to use my tileset for free for non commercial projects.

For commercial projects, all I ask is a one time payment of $250.

I had a recent request for belts for the Angband tileset, here is the first batch of them:

Many thanks for the nice feedback, it shows that I've done something right with my tiles

Nice to see you around again!

There is new terrain starting to come into Angband, and the prospect of new monsters and objects too. What is the best way to order humbly request new tiles from you?

More tiles for my "Shockbolt" tileset, figured I'd make use of my massive fantasy artwork library for my Fantasy art kits, downsized versions seen here. More to come later.

*edit* I will add these to the tilesheet found in the first post of this thread tomorrow, along with more tiles not shown in this preview.

Those are excellent. Angband background color for visible tiles in gfx mode should probably be wheat like that. So much better for contrast for monsters like Shelob.
