Hopefully not a dumb question, but if one were going to use these tiles to paint a level, would one need to be doing some transparency work to not have the double-height images clobber the tile directly to the north?Leave a comment:

I know this is the antithesis of what roguelikes are about, but I feel like you could make the tiles first and then someone could code a game worthy of it.
I can't wait until I get to see these in action! Great work, Shockbolt!Leave a comment:

I wonder what roguelike I'll be painting tiles for next, after Angband is complete...isn't there a Doom version out there as well?
Painted this mean looking dude just now before heading to bed, a doodle heavily inspired by the Doom pc games.

A bunch of them are, certainly most of the higher level ones. I tried to stick with 64x64 for most of the low level NPCs, some "just had" to be painted taller than 64, such as certain dragons, giants, trolls etc as it felt more natural to display them that way.Leave a comment:

Shockbolt, this really is an amazing effort. Incredible skill and perseverance. This is something that will stay with Angband (and its variants) for decades.Leave a comment:

I spent some time putting together all the NPCs found inside angband onto one sheet that can be viewed here (file is approx 2Mb in size so it might take a while to download, depending on your speed):

You might have mentioned this before, but are all of the two-height tiles uniques?Leave a comment:
