A powerful sling can carry an @ a long way
Especially now that sling ammo doesn't die
It was key for my one hobbit nec victory

My hobbit warrior actually donned it.

Just got a 2-9 on 250' and scored... Arcane Control, and I'm actually playing a mage! Of course it will be a while before I can cast anything out of this but my last game I made it to 3900' without finding any books so I guess the rng felt guilty about that.

Yeah - those early advanced spell book finds just end up meaning you have to carry around 3 more pounds of weight for 20+ levels
Not really what you're hoping to find yet.

Oh yeah, predictably I died before I could cast any spells out of it.

Robe of permanence found on Lvl 1. I don’t think it was a x-9. As this was on a mage it will be somewhat hard to replace.

Why do you want to replace it ?

                          High-Elven Blackguard
                          Level 200

                          Potion of *Enlightenment*

At least I didn't have to search the rest of the level...

The *Enlightenment* was just what I needed seeing as I wasn't even wielding a melee' weapon at the time and had zero good equipment

                            And a brilliant follow-up 13 levels later on a 4-7 level

                            A scroll of *Remove Curse*

And now my first artifact - BEHOLD - In all its glory:

                              t) the Hard Leather Armour of Thilda (-1) [16,-3] <-3> {cursed}
Dropped by Grishnákh, the Hill Orc, at 950 feet (level 19)

It makes you vulnerable to cold attacks, but resistant to fire.
It paralyses you every now and then.
                              It makes you hallucinate sometimes.
It occasionally makes a loud noise.
                              -3 constitution.

                              Provides protection from confusion.
Cannot be harmed by Acid, Fire.
                              Drains experience

That confusion protection is worth it all...

On DL10 and I was clearing a kobold pit. Someone dropped a scroll of 'tor ardum'. After I finished clearing the pit I read the scroll on the floor and nothing noticeable happened, but I did take note of the following message "You see no more scrolls of Mass Banishment."
