Nothing terribly exciting to report, except for learning that barracudas can attack you, even if you're standing on land (adjacent to water).

Trying to change that would end up with either a) you'd be able to attack barracudas and them not being able to attack you or b) you wouldn't be able to attack monsters in water without being in water yourself, and I'd need to figure out how to tell you this.

Which of the 2 options + the status quo makes the most sense?

What do you think of Call Lightning btw?

I wasn't trying to complain about the barracuda's attack - just pointing out that I died to carelessness. I think it's just fine the way it is. I dumbly got blinded by accident and was resting next to the water's edge and didn't notice it attacking me. One more thing to add to the long list of stuff I learned the hard way to not to again ;).

Call lightning seems kind of useless, to be honest - mostly because it took off about half my HP the first time I cast it. I would need to find some elec resist, or be able to target it at an area, or delay a turn or two before the lightning strikes, or have it work in a ball around you, but not actually *on* you, or something so that you don't take the brunt of the attack.

Otherwise, the spells seem find. Spark seems like a nice balance against magic missile for being a bit stronger in exchange for the short range, and can hit multiple enemies. Made the three trolls and Misty Mountains pretty easy because it's so wet down there. This is the first time I didn't immediately ditch a dowsing rod too, which is good.

It should be aim-able: at least it was in town when I was testing it... there is a quirk that some regions end up being positioned on you if you don't have a line of projection to the square you attempt to target. There's a good reason for that behaviour, but it gets triggered accidentally a bit too often.

Hm, it seems to be aimable now. Not sure what I was doing wrong before...I was pretty sure it didn't even give me a chance to choose a direction. It's quite likely that I just was hitting the keys wrong though - still getting used to having no keypad, so I wouldn't spend too much time looking into this :). I'll give it a try again next time.
