For one thing, those potions of speed are too useful to leave at home. Unless you have more than 10, don't leave any of those potions at home.

Carry about 3 or 4 Rods of Trap Location and sell off the rest (they almost never break anyway).

Considering Fast Attacks for the final specialty, though shields seem pretty useful too. Watching the combat log this guy gets an awful lot of successful shield bashes, and the stunned enemies must have saved him thousands of hitpoints.

As to the blindness thing, maybe it's meant to be a sportive challenge like blind kung fu in the movies :) Still the dwarven advantage is too huge and maybe it should be a percentile resist like sound and the others.
