Data's evil twin has come to avenge his brother's death, and he has achieved the boots of victory! Yet even greater boots were discovered in the quest ...

Worst monster in the Cloning Pits was a Drolem. Ordinarily, this might be discouraging but given my run of late, this might as well have been a snaga!

Killing lesser dragons in the lair (Ice Wyrms and Storm Wyrms excepted) and not really going anywhere. Need good stuff!!

When at last Fingolfin appears. I figure Genji is still more useful, especially once I switch to heavier weapons, but Fingolfin gives 2.4 million construction points (cp), so I guess I need to wear it (CL36 to CL42 in the blink of an eye!). Gave up some construction for Disenchantment resistance as well ...

Well, I probably won't be able to post an update for a while now. I put on Stormy so I could enchant Sting up to (+9, +9) and my construction points shot up. I do not plan on wielding Stormy though, due to the aggravation.

At this point I really want Jack's cloak so that I can wear my crown of might. I could also use a good shield (read Thorin) before I would consider single wielding the Glaive of Pain. At the moment, dual wielding is working well despite my lack of Genji, but a Main Gauche in the off hand really helps things out.

I'm heading down to pay Bull Gates a visit. I could not resist the fine Mithril Elvenkind I just picked up, so now I lack disenchantment resistance. One close call with a Lesser Reaver was enough for me to consider plugging that hole!

OK, why is Earendil worth so many cp? Still, less than 6 hours of play to CL47 is not bad. I wonder how much cp the Glaive of Pain is worth?

OK, both Earendil and Thorin were in the Old Castle, so my dual wielding days are over. But Earendil is worth 900,000cp more than Thorin?? That is so wrong it is just sick!! The two shields aren't even remotely in the same league! Its like saying Dethanc is better that Vorpal Blade!

Sigh ...

Since I can't post updates, here is the quick summary. Single wielding the Glaive which rates in at 200,000cp, in the same league with Sting but nowhere close to Stormy. All resistances save Shards and Nexus, but I am CL45 now. 6 attacks for 700hp of damage a round, but I need a bit more Dex for the last attack. Looking for some better Armour ... AC 181.

Just got Muramasa from a chest ... Pushed my construction up to CL50 so I could choose my final stat gain. Plus I really enjoy not being able to post character updates ;-) (Actually, I think I will start hand editing my cp so that ook will take the post)

Ringil and Brand. Both are disappointingly low in cp ... Yet Pseudo Dragon Scale Mail probably outscores them both!!!

Well, I modified my cp from 6,929,517 to make this post. I'm liking the +24 base speed even if my android construction points are not ...

Posting on my own merits, thanks to the Terror Mask, which does have a high cp value! Now, I really need a source of ESP other than a swap to Thranduil. Heck, I'll even take the Palantir ...

Hm, you're pretty fast, I suspect you get to finish earlier than my own android warrior thats still on the shelf. And yes, the cp is annoying for posting on oook, maybe Brian can implement a 'max construction' for Androids? ;).

Just wondering, why are you wearing the Laputa stone instead of something else? (ie Sacred knights, or even the Collar harness)

On 15.10.2005 03:03 blackreaver368@yahoo.com wrote:
Aaah ... I was wondering what happened to Lazy Beep! Actually our kits are starting to look a bit similar, with Ringil (well, you are using Aule now), Brand, Padre (this is unusual ... perhaps this armour is too overvalued? I'd rather wear Isildur), Terror Mask, Fingolfin and Thror (well, I am using Shiva's at the moment but have been switching back and forth).

Actually, Laputa is a light source, and the replacement I am on the look out for is the Palantir of Westernesse. I need telepathy from something other than Thranduil, which is pretty worthless as far as construction goes. For amulets, I am currently going with Faramir for confusion resistance and stealth. I like Sacred Knights, but I really want the 3 pts of stealth at the moment.

I really don't like to aggravate, so the Harness has yet to be considered ...

Waiting patiently for good Shards resistance and Telepathy. In the meantime, it is nice to know that Stone Mask will not transform an Android into a Vampire! Julian drops his namesake, but not before conjuring Atlas ... I was scared for a long time before I realized that Slayer could just take him. Ringil is on the shelf for the moment ...

Wow, nice. Atlas is 2 tons of fun.

I'm surprised that Ringil is low on cp. I guess it doesn't give any stat bonuses, which must hurt it. Still, I would have thought +10 speed would be worth quite a few cp.

A stroke of luck at last ... The Norsa dropped Jack's cloak. I had been using that Telepathic reflecting shield, but was not satisfied with it. Now I can return to Thorin. Also, a rand art xbow with immunity to electricity is sitting in my home. Should I wield it? I ended up using Brand so that I could swap Ringil for Slayer, as a vampiric weapon is very important for a warrior.

Now why do I need to wear a ring of resist shards? But honestly, I don't know where else in my equipment shards resistance is likely to come ... I have some dragon gloves ... maybe?

Regarding construction points:
Ringil = ~700,000
Muramasa = ~3,000,000
MHDSM = ~4,100,000
Stormy = ~900,000
Earendil = ~2,000,000
Fingolfin = ~2,500,000

Compared to other weapons, I guess Ringil is OK. Its just that overall, I was seeing really high scores for things like Fingolfin, but it does appear that armour is more important than weaponry for android construction.

OK, here is the best I could come up with. I'm struggling covering RBase, and I ended up wearing an amulet of resistance (now where is one with RShards?)

Gothmog proved nice, dropping Soulkeeper among others. As his last move, he summoned 4 cyberdemons, and it took a while for me to work my way back to the loot.

I really like this configuration. Triple Immunity = Triple Happiness!!! Thank you Caine for the Ring of Power! My speed is a bit low, but if I find a really good ring of speed, then I will probably remove Tulkas. I've also switched to Ringil for obvious reasons ...

Looking at my dump, I now see the stat gain from Dwarves is superfluous. Swapped to Boromir for 686 total damage output.

Oh yeah, stupid, I forgot it was a light source :P. Yes I got tired of Beep and started that Samurai which turned out to last longer (and was more fun) than the plain warrior. I'll finish the samurai first (If i get to playing agian ;))

Still using essentially this config, except I swapped an Amulet of Magic Device Mastery +3 for Boromir. I can use staves of healing without error, and I have 4 of them. Soulkeeper and my lone rod of speed are a bit harder to activate, but are doable with the extra magic skill.

Cthulhu was slain, and I am glad Razorback ranks below Soulkeeper. Hey, there is another source of *El if I decide that I don't mind the aggravate.

The Destroyer is down as well. I must be a bit weak on the damage output side for a warrior (630/round with Ringil) since I led the Destroyer with !Invulnerability (a good use of such a potion if you ask me), but it was only good for the first 3 stars. Teleport him away and he comes back only 2 stars damaged. Oh well, killed him carefully, and it took all 16 charges from my staves of healing, 1 charge from my rod and Soulkeeper, not to mention all but 1 of my CCW. But I keep all my !Healing and !*Healing*, which was my goal. Staves and rods may be recharged :-)

62 uniques to go ...

*WINNER*

Final battle was fairly easy. I had the resources, that is the bottom line. With something like 36 scrolls of *destruction* to start, I knew I would be OK. As usual, I won simple with potions of healing, and never needed to consume *healing* or life.

I fugured I might as well aggravate, so Razorback and the Harness got the final call. But it is Ringil that carried me the distance :-)

Oh, CP modified so I could update the winning post. Actual CP lists my real construction points.

Congradulations!

Androids often have funny looking clevels for finished quests. Such as killing Gorlim at a higher level than when you killed Raou.

Ever figure out how CP are calculated? Is there a logic behind the seemingly strange allocations or are there just mistakes?

On 16.10.2005 16:07 blackreaver368@yahoo.com wrote:
I've never looked at that part of the code, but its not like objects store an android construction point value like they store a gp value. So there must be some heuristic for the calculation. Clearly certain pieces of inventory are weighted more heavily than others, such as your armour. But still, achieving the 9,000,000 required for CL50 was not too difficult, and having Soulkeeper weigh in at 7,600,000 by itself allowed me to do what I wished with my other equipment slots.

All in all, androids are fun, but it is a different experience than I was used too. Much faster levelling in the early game feeded by an insatiable desire for more and better stuff drove my play. But the mid-late to late game was more frustrating. Killing formiddable oppenents with no progress seems weird. Yes I know once normal characters hit CL50, xp is rather meaningless (except for posting here ;-) but it still provides an indicator of progress, and I still derive satisfaction from the improvement. With the android having end game equipment, it was more of a trudge through the multitude of uniques to gain access to the Serpent. I tired with 40 or so to go ...
