...and here he is now.

Even better, he drew Hionhurn, and Hionhurn augmented all stats at level 11 and 12...along with four other times during the game, although the last 2 I've been nearly maxed out...

The Angband random quests have not been hard so far...the Charon, Boatman of the Styx quest I did not even need to teleport for...although I did use a potion of healing.... Waited a while to enter the cloning pits though (level 38)...top enemies were a cinch...an AMHD showed up, which was my first AMHD kill of the game...one of the Father Dagons summoned, but nothing I couldn't handle...and other than the usual flood of ants and hydras it was uneventful...

Stuff that I might want later on...
- an amulet (or other source) of Anti-Magic...these are important for killing Amberites as somebody mentioned...and enemies that "cause mortal wounds"...
- a way better cloak...something with some resists anyway. I want to be able to use the PYEC when I get it...
- the Polymorph Self mutation...amazingly, I've gone through the whole game without it, which doesn't usually happen when I run Beastman Chaos-Warriors...my life rating is only 90/100, max strength is 18/70, CON is 18/90...and for me, potions of new life are NOT a solution :)

Jack of Shadows was really annoying...took me about half an hour to kill him...fortunately I found another rod of healing during the fight. My magic device skill is nowhere near enough to reliably use those in combat...but when I'm a safe distance away it really helps. If only they didn't take so long to recharge...I think one of them's still recharging from that fight :)

Finally found an amulet of Anti-Magic, so right then and there I decided to try for the Old Castle...my stealth rating was only "fair" so it was rather hectic at the beginning with the lesser titans waking up early, but I was able to teleport to the upper left and beat up the sea trolls, then ventured just to the right...and found the cloak of Jack of Shadow! That was huge...now I could see everything coming...not only that, the enemies left 3 potions of healing for me :)

The lesser titans were easy pickings from there...the first greater titan that came near me filled half the bottom right room with nibelungs...the other half was swarming with gargoyles already, so no more room to summon...the second one showed up just as the first one died, and pretty much died the same way...

Now...might try to get even farther in the arena...found the Main Gauche of Azaghal...and its fire immunity will help against the Greater Balrog...

Yamata-no-Orochi showed up on level 56...one potion of healing, and another of *healing* later it was dead. I understand why this guy is trouble for people though...don't fight this thing unless you've got your resistances covered :)

Oh yeah, I killed Bull Gates too...I wonder what happens if I try his quest now (haven't yet...)

I found a Dragon Helm which gave blindness and shards (and chaos and disenchantment) resistance...so I was finally able to put on a ring of constitution +4...and then found a ring of reinforce muscle +4.... Unfortunately, upon reaching level 48, I got the albino mutation...not good. I decided to drink a potion of new life to try to get more hit points...it sort of worked, I'm up to a 103/100 life rating, but CON maxes out at 18/70 now :(

Still, if I can cover nether resistance and free up my other ring slot, I could still get a CON of 18/***...until I find Rings of Speed anyway.

Checked out the Bull Gates quest...Bull Gates mysteriously appeared to be alive once again (no "You have slain this foe." appeared when recalled)...perhaps I just killed a copy. It wouldn't be a surprise after all. :)
